Team Suggs over here, this is a guards league and I don’t want a natural 2 being our floor general for the foreseeable future !

Bring Suggs home

Also you guys need to consider that Suggs measurements aren’t recent since he didn’t go to the combine. Chances are he’s grown a bit since then

In fact the latest I find him actually being measured is 2018

https://www.nbadraft.net/players/jalen-suggs/
Suggs measured 6’3 barefoot, 6’4 in shoes, 194 lbs, with a 6’5 wingspan, and a 8’3 standing reach in mid 2018

Suggs just does so much on the court. I don't know what's not to like about him. I guess he isn't the sexy pick and maybe he hasn't shown the ability to be an elite shot creator like Green but those are things he can develop. It's not like we're getting a guy who doesn't have the intangibles. He has all the tools to develop into a star.

I'll be happy with anyone in that second tier of Mobley, Green, and Suggs but I can't lie. I feel like Suggs opens up a lot of avenues for us as a team that I don't think Mobley can, at least not right away. If we get Mobley I hope I'm wrong.

Ayayi is reportedly 6’5” and Kispert is 6’7.25” based on the combine

Image

Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s actually closer to 6’5” now than 6’4”. I wish he would’ve gone to the combine so we’d actually know what his updated measurements are

Regardless of what his actual measurements are, he’s got more than enough size for a PG and will have no issues when it comes to his body. He’s taller and built better than the majority of the players in the league at his position

Randle ftr stand 6'8" and has a 7' wingspan. He doesn't qualify as someone with "gator arms" or small wingspan.

I don’t see why Monta doesn’t qualify just cause he doesn’t play anymore. He was still an effective NBA player not long ago

Hayward isn’t a bad defender btw

And defense isn’t really a concern with Suggs so it’s kind of a pointless argument

Btw Kyle also has a short wingspan and is a great defender and the Groat

My question was about current NBA players, which I made clear. Lowry again like CP3 has a large wingspan relative to his height also has some pretty large hands which is beneficial.

FVV is undersized even for a PG and he has a short wingspan too. Yet, he is still one of the best defenders in the NBA. Suggs will be fine.

Chris Paul has a 6'4" wingspan, not 6"5", Suggs is 3 inches taller and has a 1" better wingspan. And while we're throwing around numbers, Suggs has an 8'3" standing reach while Chris Paul's is 7'9".

Exactly. Even if his measurements from quite a while ago haven’t changed at all, he’s still big for a PG. He’ll have no issues on either end when it comes to size

Nah they actually have similar games

Not really. Cade’s more similar to Roy than Suggs.

Ya I just don't get the Roy comparison at all. Roy was like Kobe in a way scoring wise while Suggs is more Kidd and Westbrook.

I'm not comparing the two players, I'm comparing the situation.

4th pick. A stud big-man and a guard that's rated slightly lower than the other top prospects.

Mobley looks amazing, but long-term I think Suggs ends up the better pro.

Name me a star NBA player currently in the league with gator arms. I can't honestly think of any, so for me Suggs will be good, but he won't be a superstar due to his length issues.

Kyle Lowry has a 6’2 wingspan at 6’. Suggs is 6’4 with a 6’5 wingspan. You’re getting too caught up with one measurement.

So when do the real candidates for the 4th pick workout for us? I haven't heard anything about that. Would love to see Green/Suggs matchup.

Butler is 6’7” with a 6’8” wingspan. So basically by ratio, it’s even worse than Suggs. And yet he’s an elite defender

Yes I agreed Butler was the exception here. Still, as you can tell the list is extremely limited and it appears to effect these players more on the defensive end than anywhere else. Slightly concerning when you're looking for a star at #4.

You asked for examples. People have you examples. Now you add some other rationale about Butler being an exception and Curry being a shooter. Wingspan does not make a player. Maybe if he was undersized at this position, it’d be a bigger deal. He has great size and athleticism for a PG, and you’re nitpicking about his +1 wingspan.

Your argument makes no sense. He’s literally 4 inches taller than Kyle, with a 3 inch larger wingspan at the same position. However, because his ratio is lower, he’s somehow disadvantaged. But if Suggs kept his 6’5 wingspan and shrank his height to 6’2, you’d be raving about his amazing +3 wingspan right? Lmao. Jesus, people have no common sense.

Suggs has grown at least an inch since 2018. In one of the Gonzana games I saw earlier this year, the announcers mentioned Suggs being 6 foot 4 without shoes, and 6 foot 5 in shoes. He is an inch less than Green, who is 6 foot 6 in shoes. So, Suggs has good size for the PG position. He will be 4 inches taller than Lowry, the greatest Raptor ever. His height should not be an issue.

Imagine if Suggs hit a second growth spurt and ended up 6 foot 7 before the draft. His stock go up?

His wingspan relative to height might not be the greatest but does it really matter when he’s looking like a 6’4 PG? It’s not like he’s 6’ with a 6’1 wingspan. He’s already got solid size for the position.
