My take on the Wolves getting into a Sexton deal:
MIN - Nance is a great fit at the PF spot, bringing defense and versatility as well as some veteran chops being a 4 year college player and general high IQ player. Tremendous locker room presence by all accounts and has previous chemistry with DLO from their time in LA as well. Cedi is in this deal as incentive for our inclusion to take back his contract, but can provide some offense and playmaking off the bench. A big plus in this deal is being able to keep guys like Malik, Jaden, and Naz and not sending out any future 1st round picks.
NY - They really need a PG, especially with Rose possibly leaving. This is an extension of the rumored offer for Sexton where they get back two guys who, in theory, should fit well with Thibs as athletic wings that can D up and shoot in Prince and Layman. They take a salary hit this year, but those two are expiring K's and could be moved at the deadline as well.
CLE - Decide that Nance doesn't fit their rebuilding timeline. Ricky provides a stopgap veteran mentor option at the point for a young team; could probably really help Garland, Okoro, and whoever they draft at #3. They take fliers on young talent in Culver, Knox, and Toppin. Get a 1st from NY (I'm assuming it's the Dallas pick this year) and a couple of 2nds from the Wolves.
Dont think this is good for cleveland. 3 sketchy prospects and a late pick in weak draft for two actual assets.
I keep hearing that Cavs management is under pressure to make the playoffs. Think they need a a starter back for sexton.
This seems like it's coming from the Knicks side so take it for what it's worth.
