To take a break from debating Mock Drafts I am genuinely curious where folks think Alperen Şengün is going to go in the draft?

Whats the highest you seem him going and the lowest you see him going?

Realistically I think as high as Sac at 9 and as low as 17th to Memphis

I don’t think he falls past the Thunder at 16. The best situation and fit for him would be Charlotte at 11.

He shouldn't go higher than #5 Orlando.
He shouldn't get past #18 OKC.

I feel ike #12 San Antonio is a good spot for him.

If Cavs take Kuminga (who was once projected #1 like Cade and Green).

So between Mobley and Suggs, who to take? Oh ya, there's a whole thread on this.

All that’s needed now is for Mobley to intentionally tank his workout for the Cavs to force his way to Toronto

I make the call to Orlando and see if they are interested in trading up to get their guy then take whoever is left at 5.

What did I tell everyone.

Never said it was going to be 100% but there's definitely a chance Cavs draft him/trade back and Mobley slides to us at 4.

They arent going to draft Mobley with Allen there who they love. Just doesnt make sense. They dont even have a good trading track record which is why they want an easierr process.

Sexton, Garland, Okoro, Kuminga, Allen is a decent young core

If Kuminga goes #3 to the Cavs, we should do everything to get #5 from Orlando to draft Mobley and Suggs.

One scenario:

- Siakam to Golden State

- Wiseman + #7 + #14 to Orlando

- Wiggins + #5 to the Raps

Magic get Wiseman and #14 for moving from #5 to #7. Warriors get Siakam.

We build around a core of Suggs, Mobley, Anunoby, Trent Jr. and Flynn with VanVleet playing the Lowry role.

I'm really down on Kuminga as a prospect, his feel is just so far away on both ends. I'm not sure I'd even take him in the top 10. If the Cavs took him at 3, it'd be stunning imo, even for the Cavs.

ORL doesn't do it. They would be getting a franchise PG ... we are going crazy if we get Suggs at 4 ... imagine he drops to them at 5. They are going to take him and run. Their board loves him

They like what they see

Cavs would be wise to do a swap with ORL to get him. But not if TOR likes Kuminga too. Too risky and its a possibility. We'll see what comes out of Toronto's camp now.

Which is why I think CLE reaches for Kuminga at 3. He'd be a top 2 pick next year any way since he reclassified.

1. Cade
2. Green
3. Kuminga
4. Mobley
5. Suggs
6. Barnes

Don't really see him getting past Charlotte at 11.

They're desperately looking for a center and he'd fit nicely with their core.

He played so bad in the G League but in his defense, that’s a really hard adjustment for most players. Green is probably going to be an exception to the rule for these high school guys that go straight there. I think a good chunk of those guys are going to struggle for the ignite, at least initially. He didn’t get a ton of games there and it was the middle of COVID, too.

I’m not saying we should pick him at 4 or anything like that, but it’s pretty easy to convince yourself to pick him if you think his talent is there and if you highly value wing players. To me, he’s a no brainer for the Magic but if you’re Cleveland and you need a SF, I can easily see a scenario where they bite. Regardless of what you get out of Sexton (or even if you keep him) your timeline is probably 2 years away from being a playoff contender anyway. You’ve got a couple years to develop him alongside Garland, Allen, Okoro and you probably get another high pick next year too. I can see the rationale.

No way the Cavs take Kuminga that early, I suspect they're evaluating trade-down opportunities, and probably the same ones we've been throwing around (Magic's 2 picks, Warriors picks etc).

Of course individual workouts will go well for Kuminga, all of his weaknesses manifest in a team setting. I don't see a guy who went 39/25/63 and was lost defensively going #3. Why not just take Barnes at that point, as he has the same physical profile but has already shown elite defense and playmaking? (that won't happen either - just playing hypotheticals).

I think they're angling for a deal.
