He played so bad in the G League but in his defense, that’s a really hard adjustment for most players. Green is probably going to be an exception to the rule for these high school guys that go straight there. I think a good chunk of those guys are going to struggle for the ignite, at least initially. He didn’t get a ton of games there and it was the middle of COVID, too.
I’m not saying we should pick him at 4 or anything like that, but it’s pretty easy to convince yourself to pick him if you think his talent is there and if you highly value wing players. To me, he’s a no brainer for the Magic but if you’re Cleveland and you need a SF, I can easily see a scenario where they bite. Regardless of what you get out of Sexton (or even if you keep him) your timeline is probably 2 years away from being a playoff contender anyway. You’ve got a couple years to develop him alongside Garland, Allen, Okoro and you probably get another high pick next year too. I can see the rationale.
