Casspi was drafted 23rd overall in 2009 by the Sacramento Kings.
Casspi returned to play in Israel in 2019, spending two seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

If only you could have read the whole paragraph. He played in the euro league the last two years and is retiring from professional basketball which he was still currently playing.
The team should've waived Pat McCaw and kept Omri Casspi on the playoff roster. Keeping McCaw was a total waste. It wasn't really a fiasco, more a disappointment. GSW wanted him because of his reputation as a reliable shooter, but he simply would not shoot the ball. He turned out to be a good cutter, one of the best on the team, but if he wasn't going to shoot, he couldn't give them what they needed. He got hurt later, IIRC, and then the team waived him to free up a roster spot.
