If we can work the draft to our advantage and fill the lineup holes by replacing Bullock (Murphy), Noel (Jackson) and Burks (Mann). We then have room to sign a couple of upgrade pieces like Ball and Duncan Robinson to improve the starting lineup and bring back Rose and Taj as the Thibs guys to lead them.
PG: Ball/Rose/Vildoza
SG: Barrett/IQ/Mann/Pinson
SF: Robinson/Murphy/Knox
PF: Randle/Taj
C: Robinson/Jackson/Pelle

Its a good strategy. You forgot Obi.
Ball (20M)/Rose(9M)/Vildoza(3M)
Barret (8,5M)/IQ (2M)/Mann (32 pick 1,5M)/
Robinson (20M)/Murphy (19pick, 3M)/Knox (6M)
Randle (20M)/Obi (5M)/Taj (min)
Robinson (2M)/Jackson (21pick,2,5M)/Pelle (1,5M)
I only think it will be tough for Mann (or Jackson) to drop to 32.

Definitely did forget Obi. Might have to trade 32 along with future 2nd rounders to move into the late 1st for Jackson or Mann.

I'd do it. I'd have no problem rostering 3 rookies. IMO if we're unable to land a superstar (which looks to be the case), load up on young talent b/c the Knicks are still talent deficient
ngl, kinda jealous of Atlanta; they have bright future, and a lot of those guys were recent draft picks

3) Consolidate picks to move up and draft BPA
4) Bring back Rose, Taj, and Bullock on 1-year deals to bolster bench
Those *simple* moves could get us to 55 wins, a top 4 seeding, and a 1st round advancement, all of which would be equivalent to taking the next step forward as a franchise.

Imagine seeing a roster of:
Lowry / Rose / Luca /
Robinson / IQ / Pinson
RJ / Bullcok / Grimes*
Randle / Obi / Ziaire*
Mitch / Jackson* / Taj

Not anymore than I was interested in FVV last season. He's not what the Knicks need for the price that is being bandied about. Knicks need a top tier shot creator that can create his own shot in heavy traffic and the opposing team's defense focused on him (see playoffs). That's not Powell's strength. His strength is seeing openings, making cuts to get himself in to excellent position to score when the ball is passed to him and using his smarts and toughness to get the ball in the basket. He needs to play with a facilitator to maximize his game. That's not the Knicks until they actually find a top tier shot creating PG. They don't need to lock up a quarter (or more) of the teams salary cap on a guy like Powell...and another likely quarter (at least) of the team cap to find someone that can set him up. They need to find the next Norman Powell before he is ready for a mega sized contract. They need to find the next Dillon Brooks (if we want to talk comparative possibilities).

It's realistic and would put us on really solid footing. That team would COMPETE every single night.
