But they got Landry Shamet. I really hope that this proves to be the best decision for us long term?

Would gladly take Shamet over all of them. Are you nuts?
Hardly!.......lol. Feel free to explain how you came to such an assumption based upon my post? Eye of the beholder opinion it seems. Please understand, We already have a 6th man scoring guard option in Cam Payne. What we don't have any longer after moving Carter via trade, Is a strong defensive guard with playmaking ability. Sure we needed to upgrade our shooting, But not like we couldn't have found that in free agency on the cheap anyways. We need a strong two way playmaking guard to apprentice under Paul. We also need defense, Both in the post ( rim protection and on the perimeter too. We need to upgrade our size and athleticism for critical rebounding issues.
Look, I'm not saying that I don't like Shamet, He's going to vibe a dynamic shooter at times for us. What we won't do is play solid defense. Again, We can easily enough find quality shooting ( aside from what we already have on our roster in Galloway ( which we didn't hardly even use)!!!
If we by chance lose Payne, Who then becomes our primary option in absence of Paul? Is Shamet really that solution?? The pick included shouldn't have been at all necessary with the Nets NEEDING to move off his contract for cap relief. If the cap relief was for our interests, We should've just traded back as many other teams had done! To me, it just seems to be an unecessary overpay is all. If Shamet makes me eat crow, Then I'll gladly admit I was wrong about my concerns! But let's just see how this plays out first ......yes?
