Miami is actually fairly simple in terms of a match;
They can exercise their 19m option on Dragic then add "stuff" or do a double S&T using Nunn or Robinson then add "stuff";
In terms of "stuff" picks are complicated due to the protections on the pick that is due to the Clippers till 2025 than unprotected in 2026 so technically they cant trade it unless they drop the protections.
They do have the less favorable of Philadelphia’s and Denver’s second rounder in 2022
Are people still high on Nunn? I've never seen a players value yo-yo like his has.
Either way, its for Lowry who is gone anyway so might as well get something out of it.
I wouldn't want either of Nunn or Robinson personally but the Heat have a very limited secondary asset pool to draw from.
Well the good thing is the Heat have the capspace to pay Lowry if they want. Of course, they'll have to renounce a lot of their depth in order to do it but it can be done.
Now, I'm not sure this is going to happen due to how much the franchise loves Kyle, but maybe we use that as leverage to get more out of Miami? I'm not sure what more exactly but definitely more than we'd get in a S&T under normal circumstances.
I'd love for him to want to go to NOLA but in all honesty, I can't see that happening.
For arguments sake though, I'd be looking for at least two of Precious, Robinson and Nunn. If we're going to take on extra long term salary to benefit both the Heat and Lowry, it needs to be worth it for us in the long term. It would foolish for us to take ourselves out of the FA game just to give everyone else what they want.
At least way, the Heat will still have the ability to go over the cap to retain Bjecila, Dipo, Dragic etc and field a competitive team.
