I get where fans want to get CP3. Or Lowry. Or Lillard. Or Beal.
I've also stated I think Beal is happening.
I'd rather the Knicks get some combination of Sexton, Ball, THT, Trent Jr, even Oubre - though Oubre would be last, after a few other players and definitely dependent on contract length and amount.
I can hear the arguments against it. "Not a contender". "That team is on the treadmill". "Capped out, for what?"
If done right, I think there can be a good playoff team that maintains most of it's assets, with players that are still young and can develop even more, and most crucially, players that are all attractive to other teams.
I wouldn't mind an iterative step of a couple of years of that and THEN the big move that puts the Knicks squarely into contention.
Realistically, the Knicks are going to go from outright sucking to contenders in two seasons - this offseason? I think not.
I'm just not against the kind of team indicated above. Could be good. Could be fun.
Damn, had no idea you were such an optimist with Beal.
I’m starting backwards…what do I not want the Knicks to do?
So…no Shroeder, no Dimwitted, no Oubre. Not at market value anyway. Maybe I can be swayed on Oubre if someone gives me a good argument.
I've posted a few other times in other topics about Beal, this AM.
Just kind of wound up with this gut feeling he's the target, that Beal and WWW have this thing cooked up.
I don't even care about it. Optimism would indicate I'm looking forward to it in some way. I've never been more indifferent to a pretty good player potentially becoming a Knick. I just think the Wizards are rebooting. I'm not sure why they tried to to the Westbrook/Beal thing in the first place, though they've solved Westbrook.
I could be all wet here, and they like their team and core and will fill the Westbrook gap with a more logical player for Beal.
