Seems we need to sign at least two starters, a backup center, and a backup small forward to fill out the rotation and have roughly $50mm to do it. There are no max worthy free agents left, so we’re either taking a major step back, or we’re at least filling roles of need. I can’t see us looking to take a step back, so I think we’re looking hard at those second tier free agents and looking for a combo that works. That means some combination of Fornier, Schroeder, Lonzo, Derozan and possibly Lowry. Suddenly Fornier and Schroeder doesn’t look terrible out of those options, is all I’m saying.
Schroeder wants 4/100
Fournier wants 4/80
Lowry wants 3/90?
DeRozan?
Lonzo 4/80?
None of that looks very appealing to me. We will be cap locked and in a treadmill with any combo of those players. How much better will we actually be?
I just don't see anything that gets me excited about next week at all. I don't see anything that makes us any better than what we were this season with other teams improving. We most likely slip to the play in round. Then what? Run it back next year paying Randle and Mitch even more money?
Rooting for wins was fun but...was it worth it?
