trade for Smart?

Isn’t McBride a Marcus smart clone?

He wishes he could be Marcus Smart one day so might as well let him learn from the real thing

The thing is I really don’t mind Fournier. He’s a big time upgrade over Bullock. I understand that Fournier has had his struggles in the post season with Orlando but he was actually one of the better players on Boston who showed up vs BK. 16 PPG on 44% 3PT shooting on 6.5 attempts. You can literally pencil in EF for 18-3-3 on 40% 3PT on impressive volume and unlike Bullock he can actually create for himself and in the P&R and is a willing slasher/cutter.

It’s Dennis Schroder that’s causing me to have a mental breakdown. Again this is the same player since 2016. I legitimately can’t think of one area he’s gotten better at. I am willing to admit he’s gotten better defensively but there is no reason to give him the keys when he’s turning 28.

If this front office even thinks they have a 1% chance at Dame or the likes of signing LaVine Beal or Sexton how can Leon and Co be okay with Dennis at over $20 mill per year. That won’t be an easy contract to simply trade away.

The guy would be a dynamite 6th man. Why pay him like he’s a star PG. We don’t wanna be saddled with that.

I hate to break it to you and this guy but odds are, that's the plan and it's not a bad one if you do some homework. If we are over the cap we'll need to send out equal value in any trade. Let's use Lillard for example:

If he starts the year with Portland and it goes badly, he's going to request a trade and he's not going to request a trade to a team that stinks. On paper, Fournier and Schroder makes this team better so you're doing what you need to do to remain an attractive destination. Now look at the trade itself... we are going to have to match salary which is about $40 mil. If you throw them Schroder (since they need a PG now) as the main piece salary-wise then you can build off that with complementary players and picks. It also makes it way easier to find a third team that might have an expiring deal they want to dump.

It's not my ideal scenario but it's certainly not LOL KNICKZ like so many want it to be.

It's actually a pretty mediocre plan that really will limit us going forward especially how many years tying up mediocre players for large sums of money.

It's a plan Steve Mills can do which is facts. Because they did the same things 2 years ago.

Trade for Dame using Knox, RJ, IQ, Obi, Mitch + future picks then sign Kawhi outright.

Randle, Dame, Kawhi as your big three then fill things out with min vets and rookie deals. You give yourself a 2-4 year window, then you restart it again. Our two rookies this year are good 2-way guys that fit that big three well. Just keep finding those guys on the scrap heap and use the MLE to add further talent.

The sad thing is that while I agree Shroder is better suited as a bench PG he’d still probably be our best PG since Marbury, that’s how bad it is

At least get creative. Steal a RFA that is going that has some upside or something. Signing two 28 year olds with our space can't be the plan. It can't even be the backup plan.

We’ve been seeing a lot of reports that said the Knicks want to have cap space for next year. So you guys need to calm down assuming we’re gonna max out Schroder and Fournier

It’s a combination of things!!!!

Leon and co can’t even get guys like lonzo ball and Kyle Lowry to sign here after we were sold all the connections they had and blah blah blah!!!!!!

I mean we have the most cap space in the league a bunch load of draft picks and we can’t even get creative and get a deal done for young player like a Sexton!!!!!

All that and we’ll only end up getting Dennis Schroeder and Evan Fournier!!!!!

It’s embarrassing man it really is!!!!!

Not only you, but mainly because of you, I hope the Knicks strike out on every FA and trade

Maybe they save up all that cap space to have a SHOT at FA and a SHOT at some trades in 2021, but there's this chance that maybe the Free Agents, being , uh....free! can exercise that free will elsewhere.

And that the trades they want aren't there. Since the counterparty might want something the Knicks can't or won't offer.

Or, hey! Maybe they saved up cap space for 2022 also, as a fallback.

I mean, I wouldn't like the last scenario, but that mr tweet guy should consider there are other ways for them to operate.

Also, it could be that they suck, which is also highly likely.

So you'd rather just not get better and pray Lillard wants to get traded here? That sounds like literally every Knicks GM's plans before right now... sitting and waiting for something to happen despite the fact there's 0 track record of anyone wanting to come to NY just for fun.

It makes sense why the Knicks not interested in Lonzo. He’s not a thibs guard

Lowry? He is like 40 years old

All those Sexton rumors died when they drafted Mobley

I hear you!!!!

But my thing is we can’t do any better than Dennis And Fournier???!!!!!

Like get creative!!!!

You supposedly have all these connections why not use them!!!!!

Steve Mills could have signed Dennis!!!!!!

Then why were you against a Dame trade :blank:

Are they?

Maybe Rose is just viewed a fat d*ckhead who was good at getting them a bag, and WWW is a has been "insider" whose glory days are gone.

Just speculating for extra negativity.

And players I don't think specifically give a sh*t about the 5 asst GM's the Knicks have. :D
