I get the defense and little things he did, but the sky isn't falling over Caruso. I like the 3 signings so far today and there's still plenty of capable players to be had.

Simple math - Caruso can be in your playoff rotation against any team, those 3 dudes can't. Maybe Ariza for 15 minutes. And I'm not even talking about asset managment

I don't see why they can't be in the rotation. Vogel proved he can put together a top defense with just about anyone in the lineup, so I don't see why that isn't possible with Ellington in there. Dwight had a playoff role for them during their title run, and was a key bench player for the Sixers last year. I'm not sure what Ariza has left in the tank, but all these guys are for the minimum.

That's just not true. Lakers pretty much haven't had bad defensive guards since Vogel took over.

That's large enough to probably fit DeMar.. lol

Is it confirmed or just speculation?

Speculation but it seems like a no brainer considering that it enables the Bulls and Rockets to keep a full MLE

Bobby Marks tweeted about it, feels like a thing that will happen

Feel sorry for Caruso tbh, such a cool guy.

But heeey, we have Westbrook, I'm so happy... :(

Forgot about BYC though, that means it's not a big exception but it's something. Probably around $5m.

All of this

We are 4-6 guys right now who can play in a real playoff series

Wayne is too bad of a defender

Who will be our point of attack guard????

Russ????

Hield???

Better have something up their sleeve I’m not thinking of

Looks like Lakers warriors or nets for mills. Gonna suck if it’s one of the other too, particularly nets.

Sure, but their defense is predicated on AD and Bron. If they can snag a couple 3&D guys before free agency is over, I'm not too concerned with Vogel's ability to have them playing top 5 defense with a healthy AD/Bron.

While Mills would be nice, if we get Hield, then I’d rather spend elsewhere

Main Needs:

Starting 2
Starting/closing 3/4 (hope AD starts at 5 on most nights)
A bench guard who can shoot

Then some vets

Assuming THT is back

Assets left:
Mle
Dennis exception?
AC exception??

We really dropped the ball letting AC go, pure money play

Bazemore is non-factor, but it's good to have playable guys for minimum.

Westbrook-Bazemore-Mills-THT among 1-2 guards, with Ellington as a shooter?

Damn, I hope that THT improves his jumpshot, because we need a defense here badly.

Decent bench pieces but still yet to add a surefire starter.

Is he really a non factor? Honestly looks good to me

Solid defender who can shoot open 3s

2018 Cavs couldnt defend worth a lick and they shined cause they put old shooters around lebron and let him run high PnR with TT and completely demolished teams. I can see a lot of lineups doing that this year, even in the playoffs. It's just WB. Such a bad pickup.

And again, this goes back to not wanting to get Lowry for KCP/THT/filler last year, and it's looking even dumber now that you traded the equivalent (or decently close) for a much worse fitting Westbrook.

Okay defender, streaky shooter (34% 3pt in '20), turnover-prone, can't do much more. He's fine for minimum, but won't make a rotation in the playoffs probably.

I come back from the gym to see Caruso gone lol. Predictable. This roster makes no sense. Pelinka is a damn clown, it's actually funny in retrospect how we all thought it was Magic's fault and he was the one who ended up taking the fall. **** idiot. Worst GM in the league
