Picks in the 40s you do not draft on fit at all you take guys who are the best available and Cooper was the obvious pick ....Everyone here was mad we passed on him twice in a row and he got picked right after...
FVV Won't be here forever and Cooper would be a heck of a backup PG in the Future ....Banton/Johnson didnt show me nothing so far but we shall see
The 2nd is exactly where you care about fit lol wtf
So where do you pick for fit? Cause it’s definitely not the lottery or even anywhere in the 1st round for that matter
So Banton and Johnson fit?....We Just picked Barnes who projects to be a Big PG/Wing .....Banton is not more Skilled than Cooper and that was obvious as it was shocking he slid all the way to the 40s....He was a no brainer pick based on skill that late in the Draft...
In fact in the Draft you never draft on fit thats how you lose your Job as a GM.....So many Dumb GMs passed on way better players cause they already "Had" a guy at that position .... Thats how you get your Hasheem Thabeets ,,,,Its just a moronic way to play the draft...You just pick whoever you think will be the best player period
Sims legit embarrassed Freddie G in that SL game - Freddie couldn't score or defend the whole game while Sims attacked him every way.
I never want to draft by fit, but I do think you should look at unique talent and athletes and while I like Banton and Johnson, those guys are not in the same conversation of talent and athleticism as Cooper and Sims.
Toronto lacks speed at the point of attack and while Flynn is nice, Cooper would have been interesting to look at because he offers better passing and can attack the basket.
Sims would offer a rim runner that creates that Clint Capela like effect where teams don't want to cheat to far off from him because of the lob threat.
I honestly don't think Banton will stick in the league. Johnson is good, but he is just another guard with nothing truly elite or entertaining. It is like Toronto goes out of its way to draft steady-eddie types.
