Cole is a likable kid with an incredibly unlikable game.
Zeke has been heaping praise on Wagner all night btw.

I wonder if Cole will sit tomorrow and Hampton will play?

Cole has the same issue as Fournier did, they both turn their back on half of the court. It's very easy to load up on if you know the guy is going to either drive a certain direction or throw it to the only people on that side of the court. Doesn't create for swing opportunities.

Wagner (and others) are going to shine brighter alongside a Fultz + Suggs backcourt.
UNC Cole really is the true Cole.
Sad.

Cole has looked right a Wagner several times and opted to take it to the basket and get embarrassed.SOUL wrote:Cole has the same issue as Fournier did, they both turn their back on half of the court. He has good awareness down around the basket.

Both Cole and Wagner hadn't made many shots so far so it's good to see them both put up efficient games.
Cole's 5 turnovers are bad but at least he wasn't burned on defence this time.
I sort of feel having fewer of Suggs, RJ, Cole and Wagner out there helped. Previously we had too many guys who needed to show something and it didn't work out well. Today felt more natural.

Cole has to figure out how to run the show or at least be a game manager....it can't always be that aggressive mentality if you're a lead guard...that part of the game hasn't come to him yet....damn you know what i'm thinking? maybe it might be worthwhile to bring in an IT...a vet scoring point guard that at one point was an MVP candidate, maybe he would be able to teach cole a thing or two about the balance between being a scoring guard and setting the table for others to eat...

That has to be the plan since it is a back to back.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I only got to watch the ending of the 4th so all I got out of it was Cole is selfish, he drove into 5 rockets and later threw up a brick lol.

That is the right play to make....cole isn't about making the right play....he wants to be the guy to make the play
In other words, he wants to be Westbrook.

At this stage I’d say we’ve still yet to find Suggs longterm running mate in the backcourt. Our best hope for now is Fultz/Hampton.
We will just have to see how Fultz looks post knee injury.

More like 2 & whatever mcw is considered.
Suggs should be a point, but probably won’t because Fultz needs to have a reason to exist on this roster.
Fultz and Cole are point guards. I don’t see them being as, or more, effective guarding 2’s. Cole can’t really run an offense either, so he’s arguably neither.
Hampton probably won’t run point the way the roster is currently constructed.
