I think you are overanalyzing and being extremely critical to a guy that was starting next to Andrew Wiggins/Kent Bazemore/Kevon Looney in a playoff game with there bench consisting of Mychal Mulder and JTA. The only couple guys that helped were Draymond on defense (because he scored 2 pts one game) and Jordan Poole I get it the turnovers were high but he was out there by himself. Memphis and LA with LeBron and AD just had better rosters.
They were also 39-33 that year with a pretty trash roster. So its not like they were horrible. He was the scoring champ and was required to do so much offensive because he had no help.
I'm being extremely critical but again my standard for 5 star is high. You better be able to outplay everyone that's not a star player if you want to be rated 5 star to me. And if you want to be mentioned as a top 20 player all time you better make the playoffs if you have a top 5 defense next to you.
I mean we are arguing semantics if he's not on your 5 star list that's fine. But he is a 5 star based by the SIMs standards with guys like John Collins and KAT being 5 stars on non playoff teams that don't play defense.
I get you being a tough grade I'm just telling you what I expect the SIM to have him at.
Oh of course lol. My season halfway depends on a bet I'm making with the sim engine that Simmons will remain a 4 star and Russ will be 4.5 or 5 stars after averaging 23/11/11 lol. Star players in this sim are a little (a lottle) overrated..
I ran some numbers looking at previous seasons and high efficiency volume scoring, 3 point shooting, and defense are the most undervalued skills by far in the sim engine.
