It’s better to go for fit. You can be a 2 star in sim, but if your defensive rating is a 80, you can still make a huge contribution to winning games.

Not one of my players won player of the month/week or any of those accolades. However, we won 63 games, and after three straight 7 game series we took the trophy home.

"It's not like that's a good formula to copy," E-Balla said as Westbrook and LMA sat on his payroll. :D

And that is just strange. In the NBA, one or two top 5 MVP Players have been in every finals for multiple decades in a row. Its like the SIM rater does not like superstars/super teams ( the big three ) winning championships; so he loads up the ratings to go against what really happens every year in the NBA.

Its very hard for me to get a feel for the type of team I need to build. I am going with balance around Luka, Zion, and KP this season. Lets see how that works out.

Balance is what it’s about though. I actually like your approach this season. It gives space for each player to play to their strengths. The super teams aren't really winning IRL either.

Well this is the 2k issue also. When everyone is a superstar on the ratings, no one is. If there were only a handful of 5 star guys having one would be that much more important. In real life Harden > Westbrook + Simmons every time. In the sim where Westbrook and Simmons are 4 stars and Harden is one of a dozen 5 stars maybe not.

But the MVPs, players of the month, and players of the week are.

If you check the past MVP list, 75% or more of the champs for two or three decades in a row had a current or past MVP player on their team.

I've seen Kobe (for example) do far more with a way worse cast. Same for D. Wade. Steph is supposed to be a top 20 player ALL TIME his numbers are cool but where's the results.

Regardless of what their names are they're good enough to be hovering around .500 when Luka ain't even on the court. Dude has a great coach, great G depth, great shooters, and decent defenders around him he should be clearing 50 wins every year.

Plus you must've forgot how I felt about Timmy if you think I don't see him as a pretty good 3rd option for a 50 win squad.

What do you want the guy to do. In the play-in tourny he avg 38 ppg on 50/50/95 splits and his team lost two close games. How is that on Curry?

should he have scored 45 each game?

Don't get outplayed by a 2nd year PG? Don't have 13 turnovers and 8 assists in back to back games?

Obviously his team could've played better, but he could've played waaay better. Points are cool, but what about playmaking (I mean you are a PG) and defense?

I think you are overanalyzing and being extremely critical to a guy that was starting next to Andrew Wiggins/Kent Bazemore/Kevon Looney in a playoff game with there bench consisting of Mychal Mulder and JTA. The only couple guys that helped were Draymond on defense (because he scored 2 pts one game) and Jordan Poole I get it the turnovers were high but he was out there by himself. Memphis and LA with LeBron and AD just had better rosters.

They were also 39-33 that year with a pretty trash roster. So its not like they were horrible. He was the scoring champ and was required to do so much offensive because he had no help.

I'm being extremely critical but again my standard for 5 star is high. You better be able to outplay everyone that's not a star player if you want to be rated 5 star to me. And if you want to be mentioned as a top 20 player all time you better make the playoffs if you have a top 5 defense next to you.

I mean we are arguing semantics if he's not on your 5 star list that's fine. But he is a 5 star based by the SIMs standards with guys like John Collins and KAT being 5 stars on non playoff teams that don't play defense.

I get you being a tough grade I'm just telling you what I expect the SIM to have him at.

Oh of course lol. My season halfway depends on a bet I'm making with the sim engine that Simmons will remain a 4 star and Russ will be 4.5 or 5 stars after averaging 23/11/11 lol. Star players in this sim are a little (a lottle) overrated..

I ran some numbers looking at previous seasons and high efficiency volume scoring, 3 point shooting, and defense are the most undervalued skills by far in the sim engine.

I'm ready. Didn't submit rankings because honestly I don't understand if we should rate for real life or the sim lol. Certain players I love in real life aren't worthy of love in the sim.

Yeah I didn’t for the reason as well.. that and I won’t be very active in this FA

I didn't submit either because I think free agency is really going to change things especially in the West. While I can guess how things will turn out, all it takes is for someone to start drastically overbidding to poach a key player and things could look different.
