The Sixers need to be the team that actually attaches picks to Simmons to get a better player which makes any deal with teams that also try to become better almost impossible. It should be obvious by now that the Sixers FO (correctly) waits to see which star/superstar will make himself available so that they can make an offer. They dont care about what Minessota, the Bulls etc have to offer. Maybe Simmons forces their hand but i dont see them willingly entertaining any of these offers, even as a basis for further discussions.
Nah, it only seem to work for Simmons that wayLAL1947 wrote:Question: Since Draymond threw his coach, GM and organization under the bus... does Draymond's trade value drop as much as folks have been saying Ben Simmons' value has dropped from Ben "wanting out" because Doc "threw him under the bus"?
It's a valid question.

Ben Simmons
They get a complimentary All-Star that would allow them to win now while KAT and DLo are on their prime.
KAT/McDaniels/Okogie/DLo/Simmons
PHI Gets:
CJ McCollum
Taurean Prince
They get the perimeter shot creator that they need and some defense.
Curry/CJ/Harris/Prince/Embiid
POR Gets:
Paschal Siakam
Powell was a perfect fit in Portland as soon as we was traded and he is a natural SG. This trade allows them to get bigger and play around Dame.
Dame/Powell/Covington/Siakam/Nurkic
TOR Gets:
Anthony Edwards
Malik Beasley
Toronto does a mini rebuild by getting a young talent with superstar potential. They can probably do another trade for someone like Bagley or Turner
FVV/Edwards/Barnes/OG/Boucher

The Minny piece to move is D’lo not Ant

D'lo isn't a piece, he's a bad contract used for matching.
But the problem is that Simmons is actually a pretty perfect partner to get the best out of D'lo, so Minny are in an awkward position where D'lo has more value to them than the (negative) value he has to other teams, but only if they can sign Simmons, but it's hard(er) to sign Simmons without trading D'lo
What? Are you just messing around with semantics or do you have something more to add?Wolveswin wrote:SharpyShuffle wrote:Tomjas wrote:

Sign Simmons? He is locked in for 4 years?

this is true but i like the idea of dumping two unwanted player and get back championship vet in green.
flipping simmons for star is hard now so if im morey i flip simmons, harris for wiggs, green, wiseman, all their unprotected picks and wait this yrs trade deadline or next yr to flip wigs plus assets for dame type star.

Telfaire wrote:Wolves trade Edwards, Beverly, Prince & Okogie for Simmons & Kuzma:
I dont believe that Minny can get Simmons without giving up Edwards, and I think that they should. Simmons is the superior defender, offers more size at SF, and a much more willing and better passer. He could really thrive when surrounded by 4 shooters in DLo, Beasly, McDaniels and Towns. And his peak would align better with DLo's and KAT's. Adding Kuzma, who they reportedly covet, as another scoring option off the bench, is another plus in this deal for them.
Mavs trade Porzingis for Bertans, Maxey & Okogie:
They get rid of KP's contract, cutting its salary hit by two with Bertans', take a flier on Okogie, and acquire Maxey who could prove to be an ideal fit next to Luka and a great PG defender.
Sixers trade Simmons & Maxey for Beal & Beverly:
While Morey didn't want to give both Simmons & Maxey for Harden, things have changed since then, and in this deal the Sixers revamp their lineup with Beverly-Beal-Green-Harris-Embiid, which is very balanced between offense and defense.
Wizards trade Beal, Bertans & Kuzma for Edwards, Porzingis & Prince:
They get a promising prosepct at SG to replace Beal, get rid of Bertans while trying things out with KP for the next 2-3 seasons, and clear some salary next summer by flipping Kuzma with Prince's expiring deal (they could also look to trade KCP for an expiring).
Dinwiddie-Edwards-Avdija-KP-Gafford could become a pretty young and solid team, and once they clear enough capspace, they might be able to upgrade from Avdija/Gafford at their respective positions.
