Griffin Pistons was such a player development.
I don’t think Ben will even get close to this form. Surely he’s not stupid enough to rely solely on athleticism surely not? It’s not going to be pretty 30 and onwards.
This is the only video footage (whole seasons worth on backlogs) if really wants to improve but that’s a big if, the blueprint is there.
No.
He’s not LeBron.
He’s not Blake Griffin (i thought that was he was when we first drafted him)
Thats why people always gets frustrated.
He’s Draymond Green.
Is being Draymond Green a bad thing?
Well yes, if you expect him to be a 20+ppg scorer and knock down 3s like a 6’9” Steph Curry
TTP brought out this stat in the Embiid thread
https://www.bball-index.com/my-playoff-lebron/Look where Draymond stands from all the playoff performers.
How do you do that?
Put a lot of scoring around Ben. Think of the Blazers where they kept adding defensive wings around their high scoring backcourt. While offensively, a guy like Ben could get their scorers better looks (hand off and transition) while having more opportunistic scoring opportunities.
Problem is, Ben can't defend the rim. He is inverted Draymond on defence.
Plus Ben will always just go clog the paint, and tgats just idiotic when our franchise player is a center.

I’ve watched back a lot of game footage. All four are at fault (Doc, and the trio). Curry really is our second most important offensive player and it’s not even close (for the release valve shot).
It’s basketball we’ve seen bigs that can’t shoot but can pass and playmake. Shaq had less space than this that did not bother him one bit. Kobe has Bynum, Gasol and Odom. Etc etc
For me the blame is shared.
1. People don’t realize they don’t link up well together and it’s not always Ben’s fault..... Embiid has a consistency of all for him and tunnel hero ball vision. The other 4 standstill even when Embiid is in a non threatening position (this is on Doc please both get them deeper on entry passes you nuff nuff)
Also on the receive he sometimes lacks the understanding of the offensive idea when inside. There’s flashes of playmaking but that’s all there is. He’s a heavy user and a heavy scorer when fresh. When he’s not or throws up Embiid games it looks awful to me. He’s my favorite player playing but I’ll call a spade a spade if it comes to it. Look Embiid at the 3pt line when he’s gassed late getting ready to dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble no shot clock left penetrate contested mid shot or as fate would have a tendency for a turnover is not the play.
Basically play Ben like he was in College.
2. Harris is def not the player you want. We’re still a 50+ win team 2nd rnd ceiling if he disappeared tomorrow for nothing. Zero variation
3. The correct and best two man play (Ben starts on the left/right blocks or split middle near the free throw line and Embiid on the outer starting on the perimeter) and legit two man huge barricade a bucket hasn’t been used anywhere near enough. Imagine Embiid as kind of like the linebacker and Ben having two shooters in his eyesight on the inside. That’s always going to be a great results because he can take care of the ball more often than not. Also roll man/pnr/lobs and guard play with Ben just as much. When that first play is actually run and works, it works as perfectly as it sounds like. He did it with goddamn Howard. Why that play shouldn’t be number one in the hand book is beyond me. Embiid can rest while Ben takes the inside play.
4. Only 2 out of 3 should be in there (that’ll solve a lot of problems). Could be first come first serve. They should have already worked it out. Ben can’t shoot fine. Do you know how easy it is being that big (Embiid or Harris for that matter) to literally get close to the post, turn around and stick your butt and pass to an oncoming 6”10” freight train with a runway. This is all very very basic basketball stuff.
5. If Doc retools the offensive structure to work towards what their strengths are and quicker rotations pulling the trigger instead of being stubborn we’d look a ton better.
6. Also for the love of god please stop moving further away after a broken down offensive scheme outer pass for a pass back again. No move forward and set a goddamn screen.
I’m telling everyone here this two game is $$$ if the coach and the two actually worked out the kinks. There are even easier solutions (Namely when Ben gets the ball on the entry pass in the post and Embiid is literally under the rim, Big guy I love you, get the seal and stick your butt out and outreach with your hands) DO NOT BACK BACK behind your defender or even worse ask for a pass when you’re behind. That’s just an understanding issue to me.
Why are we up in arms saying it cant work? It’s two bigs: One is a Playmaking roll man, screen setting power forward that should receive more on the inside (that’s on the coach) and the other is a huge shot happy and heavy scoring Center it’s not the end of the world.
In fact on description it should work fairly easily.
There problem solved.
