Seems like everybody's penciling him into the Lakers roster. Can not wait to see him trying to guard Giannis if it goes down.

Cleveland figured the best person to mentor Markannen is Kevin Love. Now they've got two big guys that can shoot but wreck your defense and don't offer enough finishing or playmaking to actually build into a successful offense!

Portland trades for Nance Jr and in turn Cleveland buys out Love, does he also end up in Portland?
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Lineups with Love and Melo playing at the same time would be the lulz.

Damn, that's a good pickup for Portland.

Why wouldn't Chicago just keep Nance?
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Not sure they are interested in defenders this season.

The Sixers should have just taken whatever they could get for Simmons before the draft and run. Teams knew the Sixers needed to trade him, the Sixers mistake was thinking anyone would buy their bluff that they'd keep him around and rehab his value. If there was anything he could do this season to actually recuperate value they wouldn't have shopped him so openly. Now Pompey's reporting he wants out and won't report to training camp.

Remember when Philly actually looked like their rebuild was ahead of ours? Trading for the privilege of overpaying Harris was the beginning of the end, not getting rid of Simmons before it was too late seems to be the death knell. Embiid + some decent role players will keep them in the playoffs and maybe some occasional home-court situations but otherwise I feel pretty confident saying they botched this.

Simmons should have been traded for McCollum weeks ago. Again, Morey's delusional if he ever thought keeping him on the roster heading into training camp was gonna be anything but an absolute cluster **** of a situation. Now, he's dragged his feet to the point where it's become the worst case scenario where his value is gonna tank even further.

You love to see it.

Hope Cleveland holds strong on Love. If he wants to go home and play for the Lakers, fine....walk away from that contract. There's 2 years left on it.

IDK, The Rodgers thing was cluster and now everything will be fine once he is on the field. Have him come back, play great regular season ball like he does and then trade him. Doubt he actually sits out.

Matt LeFleuer and Davante Adams didn't publicly body-bag Rodgers in their post-season pressers. There's no situation where Simmons comes back to that locker room that doesn't turn toxic. He's done as a Sixer and everyone but Daryl Morey seems to understand that.

Morey messed up so bad not trading Simmons for Harden or whoever else he could have gotten last offseason.

This is also why Rivers and Embiid blew it by throwing a teammate under the bus. Even if he deserved it it's self-destructive.

But on the other hand, if Simmons really has the cajones to try and dictate terms about going to a 'California team' after chocking as badly as he did down the stretch, I hope the Sixers find an excuse to send him somewhere he'll despise.

“Think about three months ago when the Sixers are willing to give up Ben Simmons. You are like, ‘Let’s see what we have to do to get him,’” said a Western Conference executive, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “Now, the difference is Ben Simmons says he refuses to play for the Sixers. He wants to go to three California teams. There’s so much bad blood between him and the team.”

The executive said teams are not willing to give in to the Sixers’ steep asking price knowing they have to move Simmons.

“The kid said he’s not going back,” the executive said. “I’m not giving you what you’re demanding. They really messed this up.”

I wonder whether the Nance trade was a shot across the bow to Philly about their interest level in Simmons -- especially if Morey is intending to insist on future picks in addition to McCollum.

Yeah Simmons is quite principled when it comes to having a tantrum. He isn't reporting.

The fact that Philly and Houston didn't do a Simmons/Harden swap is mindblowing.
