Portland only team that might take a gamble due to Dame situation. Although I really doubt it. If anything they'd rather rebuild imo.

If your Nets Big 3 were not so close I would think a Ben for Kyrie would almost guarantee multiple championships.
But hey you guys should def be the favorites this season anyway as is.

i honestly don't know who K Williams is, but Rozier, Washington and a 1st for Sabonis doesn't feel like "making out like bandits" to me.
which team does williams come from? or is it kenrich williams from OKC?

Would have been better if the added the odds of him staying with the Sixers..

Assuming that Philadelphia wants win now talent CJ would be the best rumored player involved who fits their needs.

I don't understand why any team would trade value for a guy that is a liability at crunch time because he can't shoot FTs? He's not Shaq and doesn't have that kind of impact on the game.

Ordinarily he's a passable FT shooter (60%), he was just in a slump during playoff time. Slumps are usually temporary for young guys.

Anyone trading for him have to plan for him not being their primary ballhandler.

The reason he is a 3 time all star and two time all defense, as well as rookie of the year, all before he was 25 without being a top scorer means he "impacts the game."

Exactly, he needs to be paired with:

1) A primary ballhandler
2) At least 2 20ppg scorers
3) A team with elite 3pt shooting

His main value isnt his handle or creation, its his multi-positional defense. His use as a creator is a distant 2nd to that skill IMO.

The FT thing is only a problem if you are like Philly and don't have another primary ballhandler. For instance in Portland at the close of tight games, Dame is going to have the ball. In Minnesota Edwards/Russell can have the ball. Kings have 3 PG's at least 2 of which would figure to remain, etc...

Guess who else had the ball a bunch and struggled to shoot FT's -- Giannis. And guess who else a huge chunk of this website claimed couldn't win in the playoffs because he couldn't shoot? Now, no I am not in any way claiming Ben Simmons is the caliber of player Giannis is, he clearly isn't. But he is illustrative that these flaws aren't always as fatal as you guys want to claim.

Astonishing how once a narrative takes hold, some of you just can't let it go. Meanwhile other players have even more fatal weaknesses than Simmons and you view them as incredibly valuable. It's just absolutely bizarre.

Recency bias is a thing that has only happened on here recently.

But it is probably worth pointing out that Simmons career numbers aren't great but also aren't problematic in terms of end of game ft's. And there was the whole sibling abuse thing and a bunch of stuff that might have made this a very easily explained aberration. Of course, you can also tell the story that it is the he will never come back to the ft shooter he was before this past offseason, and this is the new normal.

To be fair on narrative other than the free throw % , giannis issue with shooting is not exactly the same as per Simmons , but Simmons is getting valued pretty cheaply around here.

So long as he’s not the primary ballhandler, he should be more improved hopefully.

Edit ; not going to happen but he would really good on the nets as part of the harden/Durant big three.

Okay my attempt at a Simmons deal. I have the Kings as the best team for him.

Thunder trade: Kenrich Williams
Thunder get: Bagley, 22 SAC 2nd(55-60 protected)

Cavs trade: Sexton
Cavs get: Shake Milton, 22 Kings 1st(top 8, top 6, top 4, 2 2nds)

Kings trade: Barnes/Haliburton/Bagley/22 1st/22 2nd
Kings get: Ben Simmons/Kenrich Williams

Sixers trade: Ben Simmons/Shake Milton
Sixers get: Haliburton/Sexton/Barnes

Thunder get a 2nd and take a flier on Bagley
Cavs get a good pick for Sexton and Milton provides them a bench scoring threat to pair with Rubio
Kings go get a 2nd star to pair with Fox and Williams provides some important forward depth
Sixers get two talented young guards for Simmons and a good solid combo forward

Flame away

Love it. Call it in. Somewhere out of sexton/maxey/Haliburton you get your backcourt of the future

I dont think Milton and a FRP gets you Sexton. Also think OKC should keep a guy like Kenrich around over taking a flyer in Bagley.

We will agree to disagree on Sexton. Curious why you think he's got more value than a top 8 protected pick where protections decline and a cheap backup guard?

I based the Bagley portion on posts from Thunder fans. I agree that they are due another 2nd here and Philly should probably be paying it.
