We assured you that we're getting a lotto pick and that ultimately that's better than getting trampled by the Nets in the first round. If you could turn back time and trade back the pick for some "1st round experience" vs the Nets would you do it? I think not. lol
Last season was a cluster f___, no doubt. I can make peace with that. The problem is most of the people who didn't get Suggs haven't made peace with the direction the team has gone.
If we went Suggs, they'd be blowing trumpets heralding our return and telling us that it's too soon to panic.
I don't know about others but I personally don't see the point in hitching your wagon on one prospect. We all have preferences but at the end of the day we have to ride for the guy the team picks.
Early last year I was very intrigued with Jalen Green on our team, then as the college season progressed it was clear to me Cade was the best player in the draft, once we got the 4th pick and it became clear to me those two were no longer within our reach I started coming around the to the idea of drafting Suggs, I was impressed with his tournament run prior to the lottery anyways and so I didn't think it was that much of a let down.
Barnes was a guy in the 11-8 range for most of the year but shot up after the combine, I was skeptical and on draft day when we passed on Suggs I admit I was upset, but I quickly came around to the idea of Barnes being some super big point guard. Especially with our team's track record of development and someone with his physical measurements.
