They don't have an open roster spot, I think if Ben were to be suspended long enough they would eventually be granted an extra one. I assume Shake will be back relatively soon so they don't want just cut Bassey or something.

I guess one thing they could do is cut Riller (who would have gotten a golden opportunity here, it's a shame he got hurt) or Henry and sign someone to a two way but you need to only have a few years experience to be eligible for that. Again I think they just want to wait until Shake gets back or Ben gets out of his feelings.

It's not worth engaging, guys. The goalposts move and nary a worthy point is ever made.

For instance, the Sixers "don't want Ben here and haven't for months" despite saying publicly that they want to keep Ben. That's a fine argument to have, but you can't also hold the belief that Ben never said/did anything to exacerbate the situation and that it's all media hearsay or Klutch Sports's words these past 5 months.

Those millions of $ in fines are reeeaaaally encouraging Ben to stay

I think this situation is all Morey’s fault! No, wait, it’s Joel’s! Maybe it’s Tobias Harris. Or Grant Riller. The equipment manager had a hand in all this. And Jenny from the Wells Fargo Center Shake Shack isn’t blameless either.

The one person who we can all agree is a poor, blameless victim, who had no role, responsibility, or agency in this situation, is Ben Simmons.

If by good, you mean an All-Star level player? Agreed, I also don’t believe that has been offered.

But there is enough smoke to think that Minnesota offered their scrubs and at least 2 1sts and 2 swaps. Also SA has made an offer, and while they don’t have anything sexy they do have some solid vets and some intriguing youngsters.

IMO Morey has just been too focused on Dame, and secondarily Beal.

I wonder how long the players are willing to put up with the circus before they all start pushing back on management.

I don't see how that Minny package makes the team much better than they already are without Simmons. If all the best offer does is lock the team into like a low level playoff team that may make the 2nd round against the right matchup they may as well wait (which has been the issue for months).

The extra picks better position them to trade for the next star level player that asks out. Teams aren't that excited about Ben Simmons anymore, and I don't think you can highlight a trade package for a Bradley Beal type with Simmons.

I think the possibility that your prediction is wrong is worth the risk that Minny pulls a pick or two from that offer in a few months. Just like I can't guarantee his value is going to go up you can't guarantee those picks are going to turn or be flippable into anything. I don't see anything about that offer that makes me think they have to jump on it today.
