LoL.
More cowardly than not shooting a three.

With the way events have unfolded and how much money is at stake here, he probably wouldn't get away with just saying he has a mental disability. They already said he's going to be evaluated by medical professionals, I would have to imagine the Sixers would make sure those people are independent and give an honest assessment.

Yep. We are talking about ~$16 million assuming he gets traded at the deadline. There is no way the Sixers will just take his word and pay him without a thorough evaluation. This also doesn't put the money back into his pocket, it just potentially halts fines against the funds in escrow.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt given that he has spoke to the team candidly and they, by all reports, seem to buy his story. On top of that we all know the shooting and sister stuff all has some mental component. HOWEVER, if the evaluation comes back that he is faking this.... yikes. He'll go down as the biggest sports villain in Philadelphia sports history.

Alternatively White, Young and Vassell have upside on this list or NAW, Sato, Hart and a pick same deal.

Basically young player + pick + filler.

The trouble is we have one spare spot and because of the contract unless it’s one player that matches other players would have to be cut/traded which I’m fine with.

All 3 outcomes aren’t the worst thing in the world. Gives us flexibility.

I’m not fully into Hali + Barnes + Bagley. Bagley is trash and Barnes might actually be the best player that we get from the Kings this year. We have Harris.

Spurs/Pelicans gives us a deep as heck team and pick/picks.

Hopefully Thybulle steps up and takes Greens spot.

Wait! What Pelicans Deal!?!

NAW, Hart, Sato (salary filler) + pick/picks

Or Ingram

Do you have a link or is this a deal you just made up? Pels will never trade Ingram for Simmons. Simmons would be a terrible fit in New Orleans and Ingram is a perfect fit. Also the Pels aren't sending picks for a player that is a bad fit either.

As I’ve said before, I think trade will be made December/January and I think it’ll be Fox or Ingram (three team trade) for Simmons.

Don't know why people keep saying Ingram. Why would the Pels do that!?!

Made up, but the contracts and picks work out nicely.

Don’t like the Cavs/Kings stuff personally. Spurs yes, Blazers is fine.

It’s what the trade entails, young player with upside + pick/picks.

From an outside perspective... Simmons is such a diva and baby about all of this. I think he's lowered his trade value even more than what it was at the end of last years playoffs. Dude is just soft. It's pretty evident he can't be a top player in this league and needs a reality check. That sucks for you guys who already have had some bad luck with Fultz. It seems the best case scenario would be to get semi promising young player and a bench piece or two out of Simmons in a trade.

I don't trust the guy and I don't believe him. I think this is just another ploy not to lose anymore money due to fines. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Are you kidding Simmons is way better than Ingram.

You have to be dubious. But of all these excuses, for Ben to tell the team, in person, his head’s not together is about the last thing I’d expect from someone who is seemingly so uptight about how he comes off. It would be a shrewd move, I guess, if he could pull it off, but I thought that was a big chunk of the problem to begin with: his obsession with his chill image. Idk. But if he legitimately was willing to play for the team again, this would also be a good first move.

Its more so and ironically considering everything that Ingram is their chip incase Zion eats his way out of the league or just leaves in general. Ben and Zion is a terrible fit so it would be a 3 teamer and then you'd have to wonder who wants only one of Ingram/Simmons and also have something either we or the Pels want. **** is tricky.

Personally out of all teams the Jazz should be dealing with Morey and working to get a deal done no matter how much it takes.

Disregard 3ball shooting I have no time for that.

A team is about style/philosophy on maxing your best player.

Gobert/Ben/Mitchell trio is a very very scary team with huge potential.

That’s like a better shooting A.I getting Mutumbo and a suped up Green. Now the Jazz aren’t paper tigers anymore because they’ve always been easy pickings on the wing which lessens Goberts defensive impact that people turn a blind eye too.

Serious team then. Gobert can camp inside for 40mins in the playoffs and Ben can patrol anywhere on the outside.

Out of all the teams, I think the Jazz have close to the least amount to offer for Simmons if they plan on keeping Mitchell and Gobert.

Re: Ingram - there is a lot of smoke that he and Zion do not get along, and NOLA has hitched their wagon to Zion, for better or worse.

I mentioned it before, but the only way I see a three way with Simmons and Ingram is if Minnesota decides it’s better to get rid of Towns now. I think Towns is the stretch five center that fits best with Zion. Simmons-Russell-Edwards in Minn. Ingram to Philly.

Odds of that happening are sub-5% for sure.

Fwiw, I think Simmons comes back and plays for the Sixers and the fanbase shockingly showers him with affection when he finally returns. But that sentiment will sour quickly if he isn’t hoisting up threes and showing that he has changed a bit with being more willing to shoot. I also think just as he begins to mentally get used to playing for Philly again, Morey trades him. Cruel world. Lol

Team is gonna do what it takes to re-gain some sense of normalcy, so i think what Tobias and Joel are doing is the right approach, it also allows them to make the team itself more sympathetic. Not to mention, humans, if Ben is being honest.

If he is not and this is a play to get his money, he's gonna have to eventually step on the floor, so this is not a lie that can be sustained either.

Simmons should take a page out of Mike Schmidt's book for his first appearance at the WF Center after being known as an overly sensitive superstar with a too cool for school aloofness about him and bashing the fanbase. Of course it helped that Schmidt had already won a championship and two MVP's by then.

Crazy when you think about it.

MCW has the greatest first game of any player ever, and then...

Noel ends up turning down $80 million dollars and suing Klutch.

Embiid missing the entirety of his first two seasons.

Okafor going 120 mph on bridges and getting into stupid drunken fights in Boston.

Simmons refusing to shoot, demanding a trade with four seasons left on a max contract.

Fultz forgetting how to shoot.

Zhaire almost dying while the guy we traded him away for thrives in Phoenix.

Just a brutal stretch all around.
