Again, you never give any substantial answer to my post. You keep dragging the same narrative. This team will never win a title, not because of Luka-hero ball but because the team is not good enough!
Now, can this team win a title with this current lineup? Even yourself will not believe that. And you're just trying to evade it and make an excuse in order to make all Luka's fault.
Cuban doesn't deserve Luka. Heck, he doesn't even deserve Dirk.
It's the SAME narrative because they're doing the SAME thing year in year out.
The unpopular opinion is Luka needs to buy into a system of a coach he trusts and not keep winging it every possession. Sure we get great results when he wings it while 4 other players just stand by and watch. The step backs, the up and under buzzee beaters are good for regular season wins but won't get you far in the playoffs. But when you get a coach like Ty Lue who knows how to position guys like Lebron while the ball is moving,(and here comes the important part) and you get a guy like Lebron to buy into what Ty Lue is running, then you have better ball movement. There is no player in the NBA that can wing it 100% and win a ring. Even Jordan had to fall in line under Phil and the triangle and get the others involved. We know Jordan could take anyone in the league 100% of the time at any point in the game. You need to buy into the system at some point. This early into the season, with a coach of his approval, Im hoping he runs some plays that Kidd is calling. It may cost them some games early, but it gets the others involved so they get more weapons for the playoffs. Its just good for the team long term. Luka is signed long term. It's just the euro fans that keep pushing the narrative that Dallas has to win one now or he leaves in 2 years. There is no proof of that happening whatsoever.
Did you really watch last Clippers series? Clippers were dead and buried in first Q of game 3. Luka going in bench, when he was killing them, change the momentum, not Lue. And even after that, just KP playing some D would have been enough.
Luka didn't win anything yet? Of course not, he's 22 years old and he came in lottery team. Jordan couldn't win that early, LeBron couldn't. Prime Jordan or prime LeBron wouldn't have won anything with this Mavs roster. Luka not winning anything that early is not proving anything.
Let's see if things can improve under Kidd. It's still early, but we can gauge whether he moves the needle or not. Luka approved the Kidd hiring (so did Dirk) so it's not like it caught him by surprise. We'll see.
Things have to be nailed down when the playoffs arrive. You dont experiment in the playoffs. Playoff teams go small and vets know how to win games and eventually the series. If Kidd and Luka want to experiment and run some plays, now is the time to do so. Dare I say, even if it loses them some early regular season games. Dallas cant afford to pull another Boban starting at center move this year. Hell no.
