So when Cade doesn't play (5 of 6 games so far), basically we've seen a worse version of last year's team, and last year was a bad team that wasn't particularly fun to watch.
100%, and even Bey who has improved in some areas has struggled with his 3 point shot which was money for him last season.
Killian without a doubt had the most room to improve because he was starting at the bottom and his offense looks just as bad as last season when he had the lowest TS% in the entire league. On top of that, he isn't doing anything to create for teammates really either, which was supposed to be his saving grace. He also, although having some nice steals, has performed really poorly as far as limiting his opponent in scoring which is ultimately the biggest part of defense.
Josh Jackson I would say has taken a step forward but he is the only player, as well as Lee who looked better in preseason but hasn't gotten a legit chance yet in the regular season. Even Stewart hasn't looked as good as last year.
I love watching Pistons basketball and even enjoy watching young player who make mistakes learn and get better over time, but its certainly discouraging to see just how bad we've been. Add in the fact that Cade hasn't gotten to play except for one game that was certainly a disappointment as well and the excitement for this season is fading fast. I would say going into this this, it was the most excited I've been for a season in over a decade put that excitement is quickly fading.
The silver lining here is that the season is still really young, and we haven't gotten much Cade yet... and we have missed shots we "should" make based on play from last season so hopefully we get it together soon or else this is going to be a really long season (or short if you just stop watching).
