I don’t think they’re a better team overall but they weren’t a better team in 2020 either, I also think the bucks were as good or even better than 2019 raps.
The bucks are a bad offensive team in the playoffs and it’s their main weakness when playing against contenders. Whenever Giannis can’t score and can’t get to the basket, the team falls apart. We would need a great shooting series from everybody not named Giannis.
Like in the ECF?
Jrue is the key. Miami won't beat Jrue, Khris & Giannis. They wouldn't have blown them out this season with Jrue & Brook.
All I’m saying is that team is for real, and they have Giannis figured out at the moment. You basically have to pencil him in for low 20’s ppg on bad efficiency. Add in the fact that Khris is so up and down(more down against elite defense) and Jrue is sneaky a bad scoring option in the playoffs and you have a series that can go either way. Fully healthy I would still lean bucks but I wouldn’t want to play them in the playoffs.
Well Giannis's low efficiency is due to them selling out. If we didn't shoot horrible game 1, it would've been a blood bath of a series. We would have to shoot below 33% on wide open 3s to lose....and in that case it is more us than the heat IMO.
You can take this view on most teams though:
Nets - If healthy, they are better
Sixer - If Brook goes down, we are probably screwed. If they get someone for simmons, they could be scary again
Hawks - They have the shooter to run us out of the gym and were 2-2 against us (if you include game 4) in games Giannis played.
Celtics - Have the talent in Tatum and Brown to put up big games.
Like sure the Heat probably fall in that second tier but they look like a standard 3-6 team to me at this point. I'm still betting big on father time with this team. One of those 3 guys (JFB, PJ, or Lowry) will decline or be hobbled come late April.
