A game we had in our hands which Melo, Westbrook and AD tried real hard to give away... No joy from this broke win.

It’s bad when part of me was hoping the refs called Westbrook for that missed foul call at the end of regulation. Hornets should’ve had 2 FTs with tie game and 1 second. Would’ve served Westbrook right for such a dumb play.

He started making bad decisions with about six minutes to go. Why? Maybe he is trying too hard, or maybe the adrenaline gets going and he loses his cool. Coach needs to sit Westbrook down and cool him off for a minute when he gets like that.

Melo's shot is wet right now... But he did everything possible, and invented a couple things that weren't, to give this game away... Up by 11 late in the 4th and he decides to throw an absolute hissy fit with the refs and pick up a tech along with a foul... Ended up being a 4 point reversal, and then he started bricking and vanishing on Defense...
I'll give him credit for the shot, but that only covers so much stupid...

Even with all the injuries, this team is better without Westbrook.

If Westbrook got lost at sea, no trade, just gone, the Lakers would be better as a team:

PG - Rondo - Reaves
SG - Bradley - Monk
C - Davis - Howard
PF - Anthony - Doumbouya
SF - Bazemore - Ellington

When they're at full strength they'd need hin even less:

PG - Rondo - Reaves - Monk
SG - Nunn - Bradley - Ellington
C - Davis - Howard - Jordan - Huff
PF - Ariza - Anthony - Doumbouya
SF - James - Tucker - Bazemore - Brown

12 games into his season and with Kyrie sitting, Lamelo Ball is the best point guard in the East.

I used to defend Rondo when he wasn’t playing well and I still stand by him. Russ not so much.
Btw we almost lost that game because of stupid technical fouls. Lamelo shot five free throws in a row. Come on man!

A team with Melo and Westbrook playing key roles will be frustrating to watch to say the least. That stretch in the 4th is indicative of Melo's entire career. Westbrook also demonstrated why he's on his 4th team in 3 years as well. Mental midgets who fixate on stats while the other 80% of the game passes them by.

I just want to give Credit to Vogel for showing REAL COURAGE to play reputable bad defenders like Monk, Ellington, Melo etc instead of just benching them for better defense. The team still held the 8th best ORTG Hornets to 43%, 33% from 3 and 18 turnovers. Good job Frank, AD too needs some credit for playing very hard.

I am starting to feel a bit sorry now, reading so many negative stuff, Westbrook getting beat up by pretty much everyone. :nonono:
Before the 4th quarter, Russ didn't have a lot of turnovers. Yes 4th quarter stats are magnified so that's fair, but I don't recall him committing so many mental mistakes in the OT. He was dared to take those open 3's and resisted those very tempting chances of becoming a hero. He didnt registered an assist but he set up AD for that crucial FTs in the final minute of OT.

He does get nearly enough credit for his vision and passing ability. Understandably, excessive turnovers don't help that cause.

Anthony Davis played the entire game, even though he vomited again after the third quarter.

I hesitate to call this intestinal fortitude.

I can't believe they've let them come back with all those dumb techs and turnovers in the 4th quarter. Melo saved us. He played a GREAT game. I'm glad we got the win.

When LeBron, THT and Nunn get back - he should just be sat down anytime he starts doing dumb **** in the fourth quarter. I knew as soon as Rondo was ejected last night that Westbrook was going to start vomiting all over himself. And that's exactly what happened.

I really thought by now I'd be over the Westbrook deal and not thinking about Buddy Hield as much. Seriously.

You think Vogel has the cajones to consistently pull Westbrook in the 4th quarter? I don't.
