Having Vanderbilt in makes it so that Towns can basically be neutralized offensively AND Ant to have trouble getting clean attacks since the big guarding Vando/Okogie basically camps in the paint, and McDaniels and Prince are such dreadful rebounders that it hurts the Wolves defense significantly by getting dominated on the glass. Rosas really **** the bed not being more thirsty for a 2 way forward like Nance or Collins.
Rosas **** when he didn’t do all he could to tank for Mobley and when he traded a top 3 protected pick for Dlo. Should have been top 7 protected lol not like warriors would have turned that down, they didn’t want/need Dlo. Rosas was an impatient idiot.
Dude, there is so much fuzzy math here I don’t know where to begin. First, you are assuming that GSW would deal for less when they had been demanding more right up till the deadline. Rosas offered them the pick that turned into Edwards and they refused. They wanted our 2021 pick unprotected because they thought the players in that draft would be foundational.
Also worth noting KAT was irate at the Roco trade and was not happy here in general. He was very likely to demand out and bringing in Dlo secured KAT’s future with the Wolves. Now you can say Dlo isn’t worth it and we can have that debate, but can you imagine where we would be if KAT left?
As for the tank, at best you had a 40% of getting Mobley. The Wolves have moved up 1 time in franchise history and that was the Edwards pick. Other teams tanked hard and there was no guarantee we would have ended up with Mobley. Moreover, the idea was to build trust in Finch and change the mentality using the last part of last season. We did see improvement in almost every player as well as the emergence of Ant. We also went from a bottom defense to a top end defense this year in no small part because the players bought into Finch’s system.
I agree Vando is a liability as is JO. Part of that is Finch not adapting to defensive schemes and using more off ball movement and structured offense. That said, there are other answers beside Mobley.
Ultimately, you are playing crystal ball with most of your arguments and even worse you are faulting Rosas for trying to compete instead of trying to further rebuild. KAT will only stay if we succeed and this season is far from lost. We want to win, we need to do the things necessary to put us in a position to win. Stop looking backward and start looking forward.
