I miss the old naming conventions without the corporate sponsors. Those places always had a mystique about them. MSG is the last one standing

Boston Garden

Makes you wonder why the Yankees chose not to sell the naming rights to their new stadium and how much money did they pass up by not doing so but then again kudos to the Steinbrenners for also recognizing that the Yankees are an institution in American sports.

Holy crap, can't believe people are actually annoyed by this. Literally all nba arenas aside from MSG are named after some business, why is this any different to anybody? Because the announcers will have to say 'dot com'?

It's really sad when such simple names go to the wayside for the never ending game of chasing the almighty dollar. Then again when looking on the court and the jerseys it's depressing but it's reality. I do miss those simple names whether it be the Forum, Boston Garden, Chicago Stadium, etc. Only Madison Square Garden remains and having those simple names can increase the prestige of a place/teams.

The Miami Heat's arena was renamed to the FTX arena which is another cryptocurrency exchange platform based in the Bahamas(tax reasons) after they had lost in the 1st round to the Bucks. There's gonna be a lot of cringy and outright embarrassing names for these arenas.

Hell if some condom company like Trojan offered a 20/800M deal for naming rights to a building I'll guarantee one of those teams would take it.

This reminds me that the Milwaukee Brewers recently changed their playing field to ‘American Family Field’. Yikes.

But literally nobody around here calls it that.

It’s literally ‘Brewers Stadium’ or ‘Miller Park’ still.

‘Fiserv Forum’ caught on pretty quickly because of the words starting with the same letter.

Yup, to me that takes it from just another really bad name for an arena. To maybe pushing it over that line of the worst name for an arena haha. Its that extra little cherry on top of horribleness haha.

Name not even big deal. After couple years people get used it and move on
