Randle for Simmons straight up. Randle would be a good number 2 next to Embiid. He may actually even be considered a number 3 if you take Tobias into consideration.

Simmons would be perfect for us

his defense would be appreciated, his penetration and dishing crucial and his weaknesses accepted

however he would cost way too much

they are asking for Harden plus for him
we cant afford him

but if there were a scenario where we could land him at a discount Id jump at it

Yeah we definitely need to get the worst max cat in the league. I promise, we would suck eternally.

Why not select a player we really want to pay the max for and then just do that instead? A player that can actually play? This is still NY. Let Simmons rot in Cleveland. That’s what’s going to happen anyway and CLE won’t enjoy it.

Let’s not be stupid. Simmons isn’t even a complete player.

An improvement but they're not exactly world-beaters.

Rose can not be the starting PG. Neither Noel the starting Center. Too small and injury and foul prone.

Thibs can not be the coach. He needs a rin runner. He would not play small ball with Obi.

They need perimeter players. If they refuse Grant to be a PF like Tobias, they will refuse Randle as well.

Simmons is a really good player. But he is a troublesome fit. You have to create a system and a roster designed to fit him.

If we think it's hard to get the right players to play around Randle. It's way worse with Simmons. We need reliable shooters to complement Simmons. Barret, Mitch, Obi are not.

To make things worse, Thibs is not an inventive coach. He wants a rin protector to play 5 and few rin protectors can stretch the floor in the offensive end.

Ben hasn't been microchipped, he can't even play in The People's Republic of DeBlasio. Regardless I've never seen a player with a more pathetic work ethic and less self awareness. He makes Kevin Knox look like Kobe Bryant when it comes to off the court basketball skill improvement. Also has a bad back and a screw in his foot.

As much self loathing as I have with respect to the Knicks I wouldn't wish SImmons and his cap obliterating deal on this franchise. It would take something like Randle and Knox for Simmons and 3 future firsts for me to take this deal on.

He'll be making $39 MILLION in 24-25 it's a top 5 worst contract in the league right now.

Morey is asking for the house. Randle for Ben straight up isn't going to work and I think sinking a pick into a player with zero work ethic in NYC is always the worst idea.

Apparently they have a list of 30 players they would trade simmons for, we need to find out if any of our guys are on that list. I seriously doubt that they are though.

Just need to put Randle at 5 and tell him to box out. This team doesn't play good enough defense to justify having non-scoring centers on the court. Put Randle at 5 and get a rangy defensive wing that can shoot and rebound (is that Barrett?). Then you can get Fournier, Quick, and Rose/Kemba on the floor at the same time or Burks, Grimes, Rose/Kemba. I think we know what Mitch is at this point.

because the talent level is a little different

and for what its worth we now have Fournier shooting and we made it to the 4th seed last year with such a player
