At 9-12 where do you stand?

Tank World Order: Hope the team continues its downward trajectory so that they can add another top lottery pick talent to the core of Barnes and OG?

Team Mediocre: Try and win at all costs this season. Playoff experience is valuable for the young players on our team. Making the playoffs, even if the play-in helps preserve our winning culture.

Team Neutral: Have not decided what direction I want the team to head. Waiting until later in the season to decide.

Guys I re-watched that Celtics game and the team never expected to win. There was no spirit and you can see from their body language that they are about to cave.
The season is officially over and they will tank and Masai does not care about the play-in.

Top 4 pick incoming!

Vulture I know you're trying to reverse jinx this. It ain't gonna work bro. (I hope).

I'm really serious man, I'm all in on the tank.

Alright man.

You guys need to put in a lot more thought into this. Trading 2 lottery picks in Ingram and Ball along with the 4th overall pick and two more FRP's is not a successful tank. Are you guys being serious? That's actually a failed tank. Guys, we've been over this a thousand times already.

We also built assets with Pascal, FVV, Norm and OG. All outside the lottery and we WON a championship. What are you even talking about?

Every person in this thread gets it because you all live in your own little echo chamber. The Lakers aren't an example of a successful tank. It's absurd to think they are.

I've only seen Chet, Paolo and Jabari so far, but which player is everyone hoping for?

I voted Tank Mediocre but the description there doesn't fully capture my opinion. I'm basically in the same place as last season. Going into the season, try to win, try to make the playoffs. If we reach a point where it's obvious this team isn't good enough then pivot and move to tank mode.

Last season Covid was the pivot point. This season we've been banged up but with a lot of smaller injuries and I'm not sure we will have an obvious pivot point like last season. I'd like to see this team play a few weeks mostly healthy to confirm what we have or don't have, but I don't feel like the biggest issues are due to health. If everyone is healthy, I don't think our poor ball movement and spacing improve a whole lot. I do think the defence improves - how much is an open question.

I also feel just like last year that there are some teams that we obviously will not be able to "out-tank". If we fully embrace the tank I think we end up around the 7th pick again pre-lottery. However, that could still be very valuable. A tank might also come with obtaining assets for moving a few guys at the deadline, which also needs to be considered, not just the lottery pick we would have.

The idea of potentially pairing Scottie with another Scottie-level player is obviously extremely tantalizing.

I thought the Team Neutral option had people in your position covered. A wait and see approach with no real binding principal or ideology in team building. If the team pushes for the 7 or 8 seed no problem, if they pivot to a tank then no problem. Probably could have added more to that option I guess so it's more obvious.

Upon reflection, I think you're right about the poll options. I blame it on my attempts at multi-tasking.

This is the definition of an echo chamber: "an environment in which the same opinions are repeatedly voiced and promoted, so that people are not exposed to opposing views." People have come into this thread trying to have a civil discussion and not only do people refuse to engage them but they end up getting insulted for it. This thread is the textbook definition of an echo chamber.

Personally I'm disgusted that you guys would actually want your team to lose.

Don't think so and I don't think that would be required, he's best used as a scoring threat like he is now and Gary likely isn't a part of the future, not to mention we'll likely try to continue to increase Scottie's usage as he develops.
