Turner is a rich man’s Birch who can defend the pnr way better than Birch can. He’s a good fit at the 5, but not for any of our top four guys.
It’s still really weird to me that y’all have watched the same last five games that I have and want to trade Siakam who appears to finally be “getting it” even if the conditioning and numbers aren’t there yet. The game is clearly slowing down for him, he’s learning how to integrate all the skills he works on, his D has been fabulous, he’s playing hard, playmaking and can also get you some offence pretty reliably. He’s also 6’9 and can guard 2/3/4. Not sure why you wanna get rid of him.
And yeah, you can say that those past five games are a small sample size, but what makes me excited is that Siakam is managing his emotions way better and as well all know his emotional lability has been the biggest issue with his performance. As an example, he started 1-6 last game. Then went 7/7 in the second Q, looking like a superstar. When has he ever done that? I’m willing to give him more time as he’s clearly maturing as a person and player.
I’m back on the Siakam stay bandwagon y’all!
Basically this. I’m not against trading Pascal though, I just think we should aim higher than Turner if we’re letting him go.
I like the idea of adding Turner. But best I think we should offer is around Precious, Goran, Flynn.
