Milojevic played for their national team too... but he wasn't a starter, merely a bench player. Nothing bad here, as the Serbia (back then Yoguslavia) team was loaded at the beginning of the 2000's (Bodiroga, Stojakovic, Jaric, etc, etc, etc).
In his national league (Adriatic League) he was 3 time MVP. Played at Euroleague too, some good seasons there. Reminder that Euroleague is the best european league by far.
Most importantly, he was Mega Basket's coach back when Jokic started playing as a pro.
Mega Basket was like a farm to many, many good/great young players to the pro game.
As an example, the Euroleague's current MVP, Vasilije Micić (current draft rights hold by OKC), started at Mega Basket. The Clippers' Zubac started at Mega too.
Jokic was the MVP of the Adriatic League when he was 18, if I'm not mistaken. I started following him the previous season (just something I do as a hobby, I like reading, studying and finding NBA draft prospects around the globe).
My point is very easy to understand: Mega had great emphasis on player development, and that worked amazingly. Milojevic was a part of that, and certainly its biggest factor.
When the news came out that we had hired him, I was instantly convinced it would work out.
