Oh, I'm thinking he could still carry a team if it was largely built around him, i.e. small-ball switching 3&D guys. But he might also carry this team with better experience and familiarity with each other.
The big thing a lot of NBA fans still seem to be missing about the Nets is that for most of the season there's only been around 4-5 return players from last season playing. Minutes and lineups are still experimental. No way is this a finished product here, so I'm trying to hold off on blaming Harden or anyone else at this point.
I also want to point out that after iron-man Beard came here last season, he was averaging 41mpg IIRC, five more minutes than his career average. During that initial run is when he first injured the hamstring. Over the last four games he's inched all the way up to almost 39mpg. Zoiks.
If I was Marks I would think about stepping in here and making it clear to KD and Harden that he's imposing some kind of minutes restrictions, and that appealing to the coach isn't going to work anymore. Something like that.
