And because he doesn't work on his game, you know, with the aforementioned "not being a professional" thing that was mentioned.
I can't believe a player like that isn't in demand.
They could have gotten a pretty damn good return for that player this summer. They didn't, though. Morey got greedy and now he's **** out of luck.
What trade was available that the 76ers passed up for Ben Simmons this summer?
For realz. I love it when people throw ish like that out there with absolutely ZERO to back it up (other than what some uncredentialed yabo may have said on some trash aggregator website).
And to be honest, you can't even trust a source like Shams on this - given that the talent agency that he works for is OWNED BY KLUTCH.
Sixers are doing just fine. 14-and-11 through first 25 games, despite a brutal early-season schedule (just finished 10 of their last 12 on the road), and with both Embiid and Harris missing 9 games each. December 15th is next week - more guys will be available then. Trade deadline isn't until FEBRUARY. Hell, Morey can even wait until next summer's draft.
Meanwhile, I have to think that Ben's cash flow is getting a bit squeezed, and - to the best of my knowledge - any money that has not been paid to Ben is GONE FOR GOOD - meaning, the team that he is traded to is not held liable for that money. The longer this goes, the cheaper it is for the acquiring team to get Ben...which is why I think this could easily go to the deadline. The acquiring team only has to pay 1/3 of Ben's 2021-22 salary.
Your move, Klutch.
