Harden and Lillard are for me hard no's, we've had the Harden discussion before obviously. I just don't want to trade Jaylen for an aging star in their thirties making 40+ million. That approach doesn't make sense to me to pair with your 23-24 Tatum.

Rereading above i don't think I was being clear. I have issues with KAT as a player, but I WOULD do a Jaylen for KAT swap. I just wouldn't do it now, I need to see if Jaylen and Tatum can make it work over the next 12-18 months. After that I'd do it as long as we don't have to throw in a bunch of stuff WITH Jaylen. If its Jaylen + Langford + a first? Sure, that's fine. I'm just trying to make the point that the swap isn't the clear, absolute, no brainer that a lot of people seem to think. There are very real reasons why i suspect it might not work if your ultimate goal is a championship. But if it becomes clear over the next 12-18 months that Jaylen + Tatum isn't working either than sure, bet on pure talent which KAT is swimming in.

I'm not making a lateral or worse move. Sabonis, Beal, Simmons are roughly lateral moves to me. The c's aren't out of options yet. Before I trade Jaylen I would take all the picks and young players you have and go try to find the c's version of Jrue Holiday. A third banana who is a good glue guy.

Don't care about this other stuff much. Just wanted to say, WE SHOULD HAVE HAD JRUE NOT A VERSION OF HIM! Dang man, we missed out!


Not yelling at you, I'm still a lil salty tbh. I think he'd fit in perfectly with the Jays. They teased me that offseason. I thought it was going to be a done deal, I had a feeling.

Holiday is basically Marcus Smart with the ability to both shoot off ball and create offense for himself on ball. That would be basically the ideal third guy for the Jays.

The proposed stuff didn't include Smart either. We could have then had Smart as the 6th man or starting 2G (I know people don't like that).

Buddy Heid
Harrison Barnes
Jerami Grant

Guys who can shoot, not get killed on defense, provide some self creation and can be matched salary wise with Juancho+Jrich and are also on bad teams so might actually be available.

Secondary targets are Larry Nance, Robert Covington, Doug McDermitt, Kyle Anderson. These are players who have skillsets that could help, are cheaper than the ones above, but dont provide as much offense self creation wise. Role players.

Heild in the right situation I still think can be helpful. I'm just not sure Boston is the right situation. Barnes I like, but it would be hard to acquire him...Grant same thing.

Give me McDermott out of the 2nd group. Celts need shooters and he's the best shooter of the names you list.

If the Cs had a stronger team culture, I think Buddy would be a great fit. But they unfortunately don't. Hield is kind of a knucklehead from what Kings fans are saying. Chucker, not a great defender, kinda immature. Eh. Not what this team needs. Still very tempting, though, because this team does need shooting.

Wonder if Haliburton is avbl, because we could also use a legit PG.

There is no guy on the market who is more impactful than Jerami Grant, and that includes Simmons. But Grant is hurt, and the Dubs would probably want to unload some additional salary on the Pistons.

There's many paths to championships with Tatum. He's the bona-fide 35+ scorer and defends and rebounds, but he needs the right cast around him. What's your approach? 08, 80s, 70s Celts? Other franchise?
