Players who aren't sick good get sick playing and compromise themselves playing a strenuous sport. They can also pass it on to a lot of other players and teams if they aren't sick, making those players sick.

So regular working people don't have the same problems? Should everybody working be tested daily?

Regular working people are mostly social distancing and wearing masks. Neither of which happens on the court. The problem is the variants keep coming and we don't know if new ones will be very serious. I get the point of letting players just play through it if vaccinated, but the issue is more the unknown.

NFL is ending mandatory COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic vaccinated players. Expect the NBA to follow suit.

That’s a risk everyone needs to take. Like I said, we can’t keep cancelling things and moving everything into a bubble. If any player isn’t comfortable they don’t have to play

Add Siakam and Banton the list.

What's the requirement for exiting COVID protocols (i.e. being cleared to play again)?

Westbrook entered COVID protocols on the 16th & then exited (& played on the 17th).

About 20? yesterday. The point is materially valid.

One thing is for certain, whatever the WNBA did to get this right, the NBA needs to adopt.

Well, they did get to 99+% vaccinated early, no other pro sports team has done that. Let's face it, women are just smarter than men.

You’d basically have to prove the few unvaccinated in the NBA were culpable to start this spread for that to be a cogent reason.

No, you don't. Why not just observe the end result? The NBA is struggling right now. All leagues with a vaccination rate lower than the WNBA’s are. The WNBA is (still) in cruise mode.

NHL has only 1 unvaxxed player out of over 600. Aside from other flaws, this working theory of yours would get wrecked in seconds. And I'm not exaggerating.

Still early, but Omicron is looking a lot like a common-cold variant of Covid. If that's true, we should all be celebrating because this is how pandemics typically end. The vaccines would have done their job and possibly triggered the virus to mutate to a highly contagious form to survive, but a more benign form.

If all goes well... everybody will catch Omicron which will create global herd immunity and this nightmare will go away. Fingers crossed.

Evan Mobley and Marcus Morris too. Omicron is here. Time to change policy away from zero covid.
