The league is wide open, who knows what random super team could be built this summer and ruin the league (like the Nets if Kyrie wasn’t a weirdo lol). Plus you don’t want to gamble with Lowry and Jimmy getting older. When Jimmy plays, it’s at an MVP level.
The league "may" be wide open, Kyrie is coming back at some point, just KD by himself was an inch or 2 from beating the eventual champs and are currently 1st place in the East by a few games. Allowing Brooklyn to get Harden last year was a huge hit to Miami's future chances at making the finals in the next few years, it wasn't just about Miami acquiring Harden, it was stopping Harden from teaming up with KD and Kyrie.
If Miami can put Lowry, Oladipo, Butler, Tucker and Bam as it's starting/closing 5, that's enough defense to give Brooklyn or anyone fits, if you have Robinson in there, there's always a mismatch and a hole in your team defense that you can exploit. You don't want to be climbing out a hole early on vs a team like Brooklyn where they have multiple players who can carry the team offensively by themselves.
