Oh trust me, when I saw 4-6 weeks I instantly thought “so probably 3 months” lmao!!!

When I asked my doctor friend about this situation, he told me that it was not possible to recover before 3 months.

From what we’ve seen with CP3 and Smart the timetable Bam has seems to be right, at least when it comes to the nba. Miami might side with your doctor though lol

The worst part about this will be the hesitation when he returns. When a player whos main form of offense is to dunk the ball and on Defense is block or be aggressive for rebounds this will hurt him overall the first couple of weeks back.

With Tucker out if we were gonna sign someone to a 10 day I wish it would have been potter. I'm interested in seeing if he can rebound and score like that against some NBA bodies

Looks very athletic and someone to come in and push for PF minutes. He's measured at 6'7.5 and 6'11.5 wingspan.

I think the reason for cheathem is we needed a forward with Caleb and Tucker out as opposed to a center. I think he plays a ton the next few games.

Potter hopefully is still in the pipeline but with Dedmon/Yurts for now we have bodies there.

I had a weird dream Dragic will be back in a Heat uniform. Strange to dream that, really. I never dream of the Heat.

Seems to be a type of PF Miami would like to have if he can shoot the 3. I'm liking seeing Miami really looking for another PF that can pass.

The league is wide open, who knows what random super team could be built this summer and ruin the league (like the Nets if Kyrie wasn’t a weirdo lol). Plus you don’t want to gamble with Lowry and Jimmy getting older. When Jimmy plays, it’s at an MVP level.

The league "may" be wide open, Kyrie is coming back at some point, just KD by himself was an inch or 2 from beating the eventual champs and are currently 1st place in the East by a few games. Allowing Brooklyn to get Harden last year was a huge hit to Miami's future chances at making the finals in the next few years, it wasn't just about Miami acquiring Harden, it was stopping Harden from teaming up with KD and Kyrie.

If Miami can put Lowry, Oladipo, Butler, Tucker and Bam as it's starting/closing 5, that's enough defense to give Brooklyn or anyone fits, if you have Robinson in there, there's always a mismatch and a hole in your team defense that you can exploit. You don't want to be climbing out a hole early on vs a team like Brooklyn where they have multiple players who can carry the team offensively by themselves.

For sure, I’m definitely on the “if Brooklyn has their big 3 the league is pointless” boat but it looks like Kyrie will just be a part time player until the mandates are lifted or he gets vaccinated? They didn’t want to bring him back but I guess they had no choice. He may still end up being traded.

Miami has 3 options imo.

1. Sit on their hands and do nothing and hope finally getting healthy/Duncan finding his shot are enough.

2. Trade Duncan, a young guy, and picks for very good role player.

3. Trade Duncan, picks, and Herro for a star to form a big 4 (5 depending on what Oladipo we get). Based on your stats you post, Herro seems to be producing empty numbers. We’re just not a good team when he’s on the court. Idk if the team will see this and decide to go all in right now to win or if they’ll keep him and build around him and Bam for the future, hoping he starts to impact the team positively as he gets older/better. Gotta keep in mind he’s due for a big extension soon. Do we want to give him that or do we want to send him to a rebuilding team looking to get promising young players/picks for their star?

Our hands are tied until Jan. 15th when Duncan is eligible to be traded and the deadline is about 4 weeks after that on Feb. 10th. We may move quick if we decide to make moves.

I think 1 makes the most sense knowing how this organization is run.

Also I'm at a loss for how we have a big 4? Butler ok I see that even after that's horrible playoff performance. Bam ok he's young and I get it. That's it. Lowry? especially with how he has played so far ? naw. Also remember if Oladripo is anything close to being back, he will command a hefty contract this offseason.

I believe he will, just not this year.

As Morris injury keeps lingering, praying to the basketball gods for Kevin Love to Mia. I was out with a spinal contusion from playing highschool football that kept me out from the ball team for a month. This has been two months now with Morris.

Are we already forgetting Bam and Jimmy carried us to a finals we probably win if not for injury? I’m not going to knock them for gassing out in a season they had 2 months off to prepare for. Every conference finalist except for 1 was eliminated in the first round last year, Nuggets lost in the 2nd round. Fatigue was a factor.

Lowry is putting it all together now, he’s a borderline all star player if he’s found his jumper. Oladipo is a wild card but they wanted his bird rights for a reason. The 4th however you want to slice it comes from the Herro/Duncan/picks trade.

Let’s not even pretend to act like Jimmy and Bam aren’t elite players in this league lol. Bam is top 25 and projecting upward, Jimmy is top 10 (impact wise top 3-5).

Only way we can swing that is if he’s bought out and we offer him a starting spot imo b
