Hard to get an assist when no one else makes a shot either.

Really hoping the embarrassment of the last two games gets Jaylen to change his mindset though. Have a strong feeling he will just triple down though.

I’m sure that’s what he’ll tell himself as he continues to get us beat.

Yes I’m sure Jaylen having a +/- of -2 while Pritchard, Rob & Romeo combining for a +/- of 58 wasn’t the reason or that every time he did dish the ball out to the wide open man they’d just end up bricking it. He didn’t play particularly well but to sit their & say he “continues to get us beat” is completely disingenuous on your part.

Players I want to keep:
1. Marcus Smart, who sets an example with his intensity.
2. Grant Williams-- He plays good defense and has turned himself into a competent shooter.
3. Brodrick Thomas. He showed me last night that he is an NBA player.
4. Juhann Begarin and Yam Madar. Both have real potential.

I thought about putting Pritchard and Hauser on the above list, but neither one can defend at the NBA level.

Everyone else should go. Everyone. Stevens needs to channel his inner Sam Presti.

So you want to keep Marcus as part of blowing it up? That doesn't make any sense.

Curmudgeon's player evaluations are ... nonstandard.

They are perfectly standard. You can be sure that when Stevens gets unsolicited calls from other GMs the first two names that come up are Marcus Smart and Grant Williams.

I'm currently in quarantine and incredibly bored so you must suffer along with me. The East helps out each other:

BOS in: Beal, Simmons, Harris, Bertans, Joe
BOS out: Brown, Smart, Nesmith, Horford, Pritchard, Bruno 3 unprotected firsts, 3 swaps

Why: Tatum, Beal, Simmons trio

PHI in: Brown, Dinwiddie, Pritchard
PHI out: Simmons, Maxey, Joe

Why: End Simmons drama, get great fit on the wing, vet PG for right now and young PG for future

WAS in: Maxey, Nesmith, Horford, Bruno, 3 unprotected firsts from Boston, 3 swaps from Boston
WAS out: Beal, Dinwiddie, Bertans

Why: rebuild package for Beal. Maxey is high upside piece C's couldn't/wouldn't offer alone, they get off long-term money in Spencer and Davis and just have to eat $14m of Al's money next year. Total reset.

BKN in: Smart, Hernangomez
BKN out: Harris

Why: With Patty Mills they've got a glut of shooting. Smart is the defensive dog that they're missing and pairs great with any of their backcourt options (Kyrie/Mills/Harden). He might actually not shoot for once.

C's have:

Simmons/ Schroder
Beal/ Richardson/ Joe
Harris/ Langford/
Tatum/ G. Williams/ Bertans/ Parker
Timelord/ Kanter/ Bruno

Need another PG (IT anyone?) and somebody on the wing (cut Jabari), but assuming Beal re-ups you've got that starting 5 for the next 3 years at least.

It does not, but boredom does odd things to a man (and yes it does all work out from a cap/salary matching perspective).

In Curm's mind, Tatum and Brown have prevented Smart from leading the Celtics to a title.

Stop the silliness. Smart isn't leading the team to a title, but neither are Tatum and Brown. They keep the team just good enough to stay out of the lottery. I want to be BAD for the next 2-3 years. Get it?

Do these GMs by any chance sort the roster alphabetically starting with the letter G? If so then Grant and Marcus probably are 2 of the 1st ones to come up.

Hey, Brodric showed him that he’s an nba player last night. That’s the type of guys you need to build around.

True. Worked out great for Philadelphia, Sacramento, New Orleans, Knicks, Charlotte, Minnesota etc...tanking is no sure fire way to build a winner. For every Dallas and Phoenix there's a long waiting period and a laundry list of franchises that are consistently picking early. If you think 2-3 years is going to be enough time to work through a tank and a true rebuild you're out of your mind. Smart would need to go otherwise he then becomes tank commander which in turn tanks his value. He's going to end up going nuts and becoming the guard version on Antonie Walker if that happens. No one needs to encourage him to shoot more 3s than he already does. Not to mention if you're trading Jaylen and Jayson people know that you have zero leverage other than having them under contract which as we've seen recently doesn't mean anything in the NBA.
