We just got our starting line up back together. KAT and DLo were rusty, and we still boosted our Net Rtg.
142 minutes, 136.9 OFF Rtg, 86.4 DEF Rtg, 50.5 Net Rtg.
To me, this affirms that Gupta should be reluctant to trade for a starter, and Finch would be unlikely to insert a different player and change the chemistry.
I would also add that I listened to the Smitty’s Front Office show podcast last night, and he selected MIN as one of his most likely teams to make a trade. He likes to focus on asset flexibility, and MIN has many expirings and all its own picks. He suggested the likely candidates of Harrison Barnes and Jerami Grant, but I think it’s more likely we make a smaller trade for someone in our bench rotation. It was not fun losing the starters to a Covid, but it has made me much more confident in our bench of Naz, Jaden, and Nowell. I think Beasley will turn it around. I wouldn’t mind a better vet back up PG in case of injuries to DLo or Bev, a swingman shooter, or a defensive big.
As it's been said ad naseam, we need another PF. We've only got one. I'd prefer to keep Vandy with the starters as he is more valuable in that role and pick up a rotation caliber veteran PF.
Unless KAT becomes a PF at least some of the time and you get a rotation quality center or give Naz some time with KAT.
