Pretty much. It’s his award to lose at this point, which is crazy to think about considering how insane this draft class has been so far.

so far he looked like a more jumping Terrence Ross.

But i just showed how your criticism was unfounded. Barnes' numbers were due to come down once the team got healthy, and lo and behold his scoring is coming down. However, he is clearly contributing in other areas as the numbers bear out.
then why not just show last 5 games including pelicans game?....nevermind i know why
Barnes is playing hurt and the Raptors are finally playing their full lineup and their best players are eating first. But we can forgot all context if you'd like, though I think I know why you'd want to do that too...

He's already averaging 15 on about league average efficiency so that would be quite the drop off to be an inefficient 12 5/6 games.PlatinumState wrote:I think Jalen will be ok but never a all star. They couldve drafted Mobley, Barnes, Giddey or Wagner....even Kuminga might be a more useful player in a couple years

I feel like Cade is grabbing the #2 spot right now, though.

He's still a great passer and team defender (though imo has a room to grow 1 on 1) but no one goes from being a 0 level scorer in college to a 3 level one in the NBA overnight

Cade's scoring hasn't been consistently good enough yet to enter the top 3.
FG% 37.8 3P% 33.3 in his last 10 games.
Barnes and Wagner have been way, way more consistent over a longer period of time.

The race is now between Mobley and Cade. Mobley has a huge lead.

I'm a big Cade fan. But there is reason for anyone to have Cade ahead of Barnes right now. Would love to hear your explanation as to why you have Cade ahead of Barnes.
Mobley has regained the lead but Barnes is still firmly holding that 2nd spot.

Come on man.. Barnes is not #2 right now.
Wagner was #1 in the rookie ladder, I don't think Barnes will pass him this week. Mobley may.LoveMyRaps wrote:OrlMagic05 wrote:LoveMyRaps wrote:

Then who is? If you have Wagner #2 right now, I don't have a problem with it. But if two rookies are posting similar numbers at the end of the season, the player on the team with the better record will win. That's how it's always been. This is a league which rewards winning. Orlando is currently on pace for 14 wins.

Winning has nothing to do with ROY. Barnes and Mobley play on better/healthier teams than Wagner. You cant base the award off of wins, because if thats the case players like Ja Morant shouldnt have won ROY(which he clearly shouldve and earned) when you had Kendrick Nunn putting up similar numbers on a team that went to the finals. ROY is strictly based on stats. I think as of today the ranking is
1- Mobley
2- Wagner
3- Cade (based off of his strong numbers as of recently)
4- Barnes
5- Giddy
