My hope is that Travis is already working on another deal, and the team(s) involved just wanted to avoid Cam's future contract situation. Other than that, we lost a decent prospect in an attempt to reset a rookie contract.
He was clearly playing of his individual stats, but not for the team. His defensive potential was big, but he was making effort in defense, only focused on scoring. So I would have like a different story, but if it was going to be that kind of play, better trade him now.
He's just the opposite mentality of Huerter who said he didn't search to earn more as it was already a good contract, and with a team he wants to play for. Reddish agent certainly wants twice the salary of Huerter...
With the recent rumblings that he wanted out coming about, I understand the move more, but I can't fully say he was playing for himself only when TLC is starting and getting more minutes over him. Again, the move makes sense now, but a different story could've been told as you mentioned.
