Denver offered him the same deal he ended up taking with the Pistons. He took a bigger role over being a role player on a contender back then, so I think it’s very plausible he would do that again.
I just can't imagine a competitor wanting to be on a god awful team just so he can be "the man".
I get that, but he’s made that decision before. He either doesn’t prioritize winning a chip and just wants to get as many touches (and as much money) as possible or he actually believes he can be "the guy" for a winning team.
The thing is that I’m not even sure where he’d get to be the number option on offense at this point. It isn’t going to happen in Detroit anymore, that’s for sure.
