Sharpe is a top 7 pick, almost guaranteed, should he come out in 2022. 2023 is a deeper class so he could drop. He should come out.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
he looks impressive. if he plays this year in just a few games and plays well, it could have a kyrie effect and vault him to #1 overall - not saying kyrie was vaulted to #1 as i don't remember where he was projected before he played a game at duke, rather just saying kyrie played about 8 games but lit it up and it at least solidified him as the #1 overall pick.
if he plays and struggles, imo, it doesn't hurt him as people will excuse it as being a frosh with very little games/practice under his belt. he should play and make a decision from there on whether he wants to come out. this is a good UK team for a scoring/shooting/athletic wing to come in and make an impact on.

It's pretty much a no brainer. There's almost no upside for him to bypass this draft and tons of potential downside with play lowering his stock, potential injury etc.
I'm sure he and his team will put out feelers to find out where his draft stock is at. If right now, he's projected as a top 5 pick just based on projection and his high school tape, I wouldn't even play a game with Kentucky even if Cal allowed it. I'd start prep for this draft and go from there.
Also, as a Pistons fan, I'm really rooting for him to enter this draft to add another high upside player into the mix.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
he's gonna enter if he's actually eligible, I believe the NBA is still reviewing, no reason not to enter really, almost zero upside to staying, he's a top5 lock and next year's class is a much stronger guard class @ top.

That was Sharpe's intention before getting there (from what I was told) but money talks and if he's projected top 5, we know how it usually turns out. Personally I hope he stays 1 year. If he enters, his rookie year is going to be rough without having 1 season of top competition to prepare for pros.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
He shot reminds me so much of Danny Granger’s but he is bigger and healthier. He’s going to be a star. Especially if teams bring him up as a wing. He’s a mismatch for most teams with maybe 10 guys in the league who could try to guard him one on one.

Reminds me of Tracy McGrady but I see the Granger comp.
Either way he look good

I don't see TMac at all. Jabari is a PF. A mobile one for sure, but still a PF. He doesn't have close to the ballhandling, athleticism, or passing that Tracy had.

I think TMac would be a PF in this league, at least an SF. But I was really talking about the shooting and scoring bag.
As for total game I think athleticism is a wash when you consider size difference but agree that ballhandling and passing aren't at Tracy's level yet. But TMac develop it, maybe Jabari can develop some too. If he is going to be a great scorer in the league then you probably want him handling the ball a bit more.

i can see bigger lineups where Jab can slide down the 3 in some match ups or sets
and Jabari doesn't jump out the gym but his functional athleticism is starting to get real underrated.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
Jabari Smith has to be a mobile stretch PF with strong roll man center.
His natural position is a SF, but he is a bit too slow to play SF in the league. He doesn't rebound well even in college (6.3 REB) so I have a difficult time seeing him playing effective PF early on in his career. His handles are good for a PF, but are lacking for a ball handling forward.
You usually get a 10-30% discount in college rebounding numbers when you translate to the NBA. This is not to say that Jabari cannot rebound or will not develop rebounding instincts/ability/habits.
Realistically speaking, you will be living with a 15 pts/5 reb 6'10" shooting PF early on? Does this merit the #1 pick (or the consensus #1 pick).
It is a solid no for me. Chet and Paolo both project better on the upside. I rather take Paolo with hopes that he can initiate secondary offense or take Chet and hope that he can translate defensively like Mobley.

Rashard Lewis is the best Jabari Smith comparison I’ve seen so far. But with a higher ceiling imo.

Ya in terms of physical build and style thats the comparison, but I think Smith is much hungrier than Rashard ever was.

That's a very good comparison indeed.
In the modern NBA, I think Jabari is definitely a 4, and will play some small ball 5 in the future too.
His rebounding numbers are a concern, though.

THAT is exactly who I was trying to think of. Thank you. Kinda stiff, upright, limited athlete, but ability to shoot the rock and get his jumper off with ease. Solid but unspectacular in every other phase of the game. Not a #1 but a very good #3 with #2 upside, similar to Klay, Jaylen and Middleton. The way people are talking they think he's KD or something. But Lewis in today's game is a problem like I believe Smith will be. I feel like people haven't been paying attention to what type of players are stars in today's league though. You have to be able to take guys off the dribble and get your own shot. Right or wrong, it's all about the high screen and playing off that. Smith won't be doing that. He'll be playing off a star who will be. Banchero will. Ivey will. Sharpe will. It doesn't mean he's not a matchup nightmare it just means he has somewhat limited impact because the ball won't be in his hands. Maybe I'm wrong and he'll bust his hump to improve his handle considerably but I doubt it which is why he's not top 3 on my board with Banchero, Ivey and Chet.

Re: 2022 NBA Draft
agree with the lewis comp. he's in love with the jumper and doesn't rebound. very skilled but soft.
having said that, he's so young - not sure it's fair or possible to make a judgment like that at this point - these guys can become entirely different players than what we're seeing right now.
