spoelstra and riley are just incredible.

And they’re trying to add Christian Wood somehow

And you know that Riley will figure out a way to make it happen.

whether Grimes is a PG or not, I think we all agree he should be getting the ball more instead of just being a spot up shooter. There’s enough evidence he can create for himself and others

Conversely the fact that we can even make some legitimate arguments for Grimes starting at PG (or even playing PG for that matter) says a whole lot about the Knicks PG situation and that, despite an entire offseason armed with more cap space than the GDP of most 3rd world countries they still weren't able to find a legit PG.

In fact, it may not be hard to argue that (with Kemba and Rose basically more out than in) that their starting PG from last season would be the best PG on the roster this season if you want to talk about yikes. Of course I'm talking about he who shall not be named (hint in pic below)...

Heck, you can probably even argue that Frank would have been better than some of the stuff they've tried to trot out there...almost.

It seemed like he struggled as a PG in college and did much better as a SG. He put up 2 apg and 2 TO at Kansas?

He can make some plays but is still not close to an NBA PG. I would just let him focus on defending, shooting and making secondary plays, rather then put too much on his plate in a role he can't really play. Develop him at SG rather then the wrong position.

I just find it kind of funny

Grimes is basically everything melo has been saying RJ is

And RJ is closer to what melo thinks Grimes is.

I think it’s funny you’re running with the straw man argument again

Grimes is in the 66th percentile among wings in assist%. He’s also in the 82nd percentile in assist to usage at his position, meaning that he actually creates a lot the more he has the ball in his hands. You’re thinking like Thibs just planting him in a corner and running with the 3 and D narrative when advanced stats say otherwise
That's not at all what those stats say lol

A PG doesn't drive less than once per game. Hell, Obi drives 1.5 times a game on similar minutes

53% of Grimes's possessions are spot ups

He's used as a 3-D guy. Just watching will show you that, and the stats do back that up

He's a good passer for a 3-D guy, but he's not a PG, and he doesn't create for others off the dribble.

Honestly, Arcidiacono may be the best PG on the team right now in terms of traditional PG skills.

I hope the Knicks get suplexed, put in the camel clutch, have their back broken and are made humble old country way by the Miami Heat.

So you decided to disregard the stats I gave you and instead posted a random stat about driving to the rim.

No schit he’s being used as a spot up shooter. When did I say otherwise? And I never said Grimes is a future PG. I just want to see what he can do at the point since the other options we have suck. It’s obvious he has some playmaking abilities, the eye test and stats I mentioned to you backs it up. You seem fine with keeping him as a spot up shooter like Thibs. I don’t wanna hear you argue against Thibs not developing young players then when you thinking like him

And to say he can’t create off the dribble for others is hilarious… when the tweets I posted literally shows him doing that. my man going full straw man today. hate to see it!

Kirk Hinrich probably would be the Knicks best PG if that were to happen.
