I mean, Osman has been in the league now for almost 8 years... drafted in 2015. He strikes me as one of those Joel Freeman, Sergi Monjia type euro forwards who will give you just a shade over 10ppg and fair defense, but never leave a noticeable mark on their team. So yeah, I kinda see why he's regarded as that. Can't imagine the Cavs would skip a beat if he wasn't on the team.
Osman has won us some games with his shooting but he's streaky. Presumably CJ would fill that role a lot better. On the Cavs forum, I suggested if a deal like this went down that we might give up a pick for Kenrich Williams to replace Cedi, other Cavs fans would like to see a CJ deal expanded to include RoCo.
CJ + Covington for Love + Osman + 2022 Top-20 Protected FRP (Top-20 protected 3 years, then 2 SRP)
Cavs fans are back in love with Love, so I doubt there's much of anything outside of an All Star that you could convince Cavs fans on this forum to trade Love for right now.
That said, if they were willing to do it, you could do CJ, Powell, and Covington for Love, Osman, Rubio, and a Lottery Protected 2022 FRP. Getting two really good guards like CJ and Powell, plus Covington's defense might be enough to offset the loss of Love even though they're gaga about him right now, plus it dips Portland's salary below the tax I believe (or gets it close).
