It's not Dolan, at least directly. Randle went out of his way to thank him for paying the media fines he was incurring for not talking after losses.

Or the simplest answer is that Randle has been spoiled by his guaranteed money, enabled by an owner who encourages him to be a non-leader coward who skirts responsibility, and humiliated in front of his young son whom MSG Network and Garden operations treat like a mascot.

The FO added pieces that were supposed to propel Randle to EC playoff contender. Instead they exposed him as a fake superstar. His ego is hurt and he has an owner who will neither hold him accountable nor sanction FO moves to do the rebuild necessary to draft actual Championship-level superstars.

Randle is an enabled dumb jock whose game can neither back up his ego nor his franchise’s desperate dysfunctional thirst for a superstar.

Randle is a dim bulb. He’s the opposite of what you need to either lead the team or be the face of the franchise.

I fault both Rose and Thibs for giving them that extension, because Thibs should have known the truth about Randle and have lobbied hard against giving him that moronic extension.

At this point it's a tossup whether the FO has exposed Randle or Randle has exposed the FO. And both have exposed Thibs. Perhaps a three-way TIE!

No, Randle is just not cut out for being a # 1

Dolan didn't make Randle melt down like a witch in the playoffs

Well Julius just lost 600k not making the All-Star team. The incentives may be a big part of Julius' problems this year.

Attributing a person's mental issues to not making another 600K to add to their 117M makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I agree he started out the season trying to stat pad to make that bonus, but his issues are far deeper than becoming a troubled, moody bitch because he won't make a bonus.

I don’t think he’s a 1,2 or 3rd option. I believe he would flourish in a Draymond Green type role where if the ball goes to him he will produce. He still attracts double teams more so I believe is because he tends to turn the ball over because he doesn’t get rid of the ball fast enough. Thibs should have a plan for these double teams and call out a play so that Randle knows what area of the court to throw the pass to.
If he concentrates on being a pass first score second player I think he would be successful with us. And my huge question is who is looking for a point forward? I can’t think of a team that would absorb his contract without a draft pick and one of our young core. Knicks lifers for me right now are the young core including Quickley, Obi, McBride, Grimes, RJ, and Sims.

I have zero confidence in this FO to make a move that make a meaningful difference. Maybe their ceiling is moving the 21st pick to the 25th picks and getting 3 second round picks in the process.

Julius Candle??

But seriously, Thibs has to take a large part of the blame for the way Randle has acted this season. I truly feel Thibs is shook about being tough on players after what happened with Kat and Co. in Minnesota. He has given Randle such a long leash that it's shocking to me that someone from the Riley/Van Gundy lineage has been so weak on players. Shocking.

Nah, this was foreseeable. I made a point before his signing, that he got punked hard by Butler. And he would have let Butler punk him even more too, until he was forced to trade him.

Was that Darren Erman? Looks like he was pointing out a Randle fuccup on the laptop and Randle got sensitive disrespectfully tried to slap-close his laptop and wanted to fight him.

All this shows me is that Thibs ain’t no disciplinarian, Thibs is booty. He let a player go at a member of his staff like that with no fine or suspension for actions detrimental to the team. Thibs a pushover.

Lol. Have you used that term before? Because earlier today I said to myself "Randle is a franchise player if the franchise is Arby's"
