Graham and McCollum are overrated and Zion will miss a ton of games.

I agree with most of this, but put them with Ingram and JV and they will get more open shots. As for Zion, the Pels will have to find a way to keep him healthy and fit. If they cannot get his weight under control he will wash out of the league. But assuming he stays healthy (big assumption,) they will still be very stacked. Also, Nance Jr as a fill in for Zion isn’t exactly a push over (he is a pretty good role player.)

Jake Layman + 2nd Round Pick for Gorgui Dieng. It’s not sexy but it improves our size, rebounding and overall team depth. And Gorgui is the type of guy who would fit in great with this crew. I think he would get behind another little run back with the Wolves, and I think the fans would like it too. I know I would.

I would add that Gorgui also knows how to play with KAT, plus he fits nicely in the Rubio TPE, so we’d re-set the clock with a year-long TPE on Layman.

It was Okogie I was suggesting back then to bring in Dieng. For that, we should get the extra money or a bad 2nd rounder. Even with all the wings they started with, their desperate need for defense would make Okogie part of their rotation.

It seems our big moves are getting good Beasley, good Prince, and good McLaughlin for bad Beasley, bad Prince, and bad McLaughlin. It's hard to overstate how much better those three are playing compared to the first half of the season.

In the last 15 games Beasley has shot 45% on 3s and Prince 56%. At this point, it's getting hard to see many realistic trades where Minnesota could upgrade either of those guys. That likely means the Wolves trade options are limited to players who make $8M or less (Layman+Okogie salary).

If we knew they would keep it up you would be correct. That said, we could have easily lost this game if the Kings were hitting their 3s or we were not unconscious in our 3 point shooting. Our defense is still broken, our defensive rebounding still needs work, and we are still lacking depth at C. Standing firm or making small semi consequential moves will probably get us to 6th, maybe even 5th, but it won’t get us much else. To truly take that next step we need to add another significant big. If anything the recent hot streak of both men has opened doors that were closed just a few weeks ago. Painful as it is to move on from guys just finding their game, if we can get the right players we must move them.

I would never trade him if only he always played like that...This night he was sensational...I saw the HL and seems to me that I have not seen simple or open shot ... the simplicity in the "catch and shoot" is absurd...

I don't. Not that I'd give them away, but this mid-season streak isn't enough to take them off the trade table.

Not making a move to improve the team because of a winning streak would be bad GMing. Minnesota should (and will) continue to test the trade market.

That said, it is more likely that Minnesota is the third team in a trade.

We’re 13-5 since Covid riddled the team in late December. You don’t have to test the trade market because the team is actually good and has *gasp* continuity for the first time in 2 decades. I’m not a big Beas guy. But he’s certainly needed for playoff teams.

I, for one, am certainly not in favor of giving up 3 or 4 important depth pieces for someone like Ben Simmons.

Trading lifelong twolf Naz who we brought in on a summer league deal for some other teams back up center to improve rebounding by maybe 1-2 rebounds seems like overthinking.


So why mess up a good thing?
