I just don’t think you can move off Barnes and Davion unless you get someone great. Grant isn’t that. Barnes is as good on this team.

Few notes with Sabonis impact on the team
1. He makes Barnes better. They both operate inside, and Barnes is smart enough to put himself in a good position for an easy pass.
2. Hes going to make Fox/mitchell better. My biggest issue with mitchell this season has been how often he gets blocked at the rim. Sabonis has the gravity to clear space for him. My fault I never noticed that before.
3. Hes going to make random athletic guys like Metu better. If you cut and can get towards the rim, he will find you. Even if he doesn't have the ball, he opens it up for the guards to find you.
Weird thought, sabonis creates spacing without being a big 3pt threat.

Let's put #3 in a bowl, and mix it with #1. I think that could become one of the best things out of this. Barnes will teach Metu about positioning etc.
The Black Falcon played with Bogues in GS and got plenty of easy baskets from cuts. He knows how to play that role. I'm hoping Metu not taking a 3 continues. Don't get me wrong, I want him to take them if he is wide, wide open, but look at him in this game, he not only gave up 3s that he was taking before, but he didn't dribble in and take a mid-range jump shot. He drove the ball aggressively. Hopefully he saw the results of tonight and wants to continue improvement.
Now, he needs to get better defensively because it's hard with Fox, Sabonis, Metu out there together, but offensively it looks good.
He is 24 so now is the time for him to start showing the improvement if he wants another contract.
